The next day going back to work was more fun than usual. My heart felt better that I let Derek go, and that I met Cal. He was pretty nice to me at least. I got the craziest idea in my mind when I walked through the door to my job.
Maybe he likes me! Sarah did say I can get guys from not just looks, but my personality.
Katie walked over to me and hugged me. "Did you call that guy Cal last night?"
She squealed. I kinda frowned and walked past her. "No I didn't. He didn't give me his phone number and I didn't give him mine."
She shook me until my eyes fell out of my face. "Are you kidding me? You just broke up with Derek and you didn't get his phone number?"
I looked around. "Shhh! I was in a rush, and I'm not like you after I break up with someone."
She rolled her eyes. It's a habit she has. "I didn't date Derek though."
"You have a point." I grabbed a leash and went to the counter. Sarah looked up and her eyes looked relieved about who it was. "Hello Ms.Brave. Are you asking for the dog? He's right over there." She pointed to a cage in the corner. The dog looked like it was scared.
"Be careful Gwen he likes to bite. The guy that came in said he's been abused bye his last owners. He just dropped him off here."
I looked back at her when I reached the cage. "So he doesn't have an owner? What type of dog is he?"
Sarah came out from behind her desk. "The guy said he was part Russell and part Chihuahua. He doesn't even have a name."
I bent down toward the cage and he growled at me.
I looked him in the eyes. "It's okay. You can trust me." I slowly opened the cage door. He barked at me, but I looked back at him again and he cocked his head. I backed a little bit away so he could get out. Katie and Sarah just looked at me like I'm crazy.
"You have a gift! I couldn't even stand there without him barking." Katie grabbed her phone and took a picture.
Sarah went back to working on the computer.
"Come here boy." I called to him. He slowly walked out of the cage and sat in front of me. I reached my hand out for him to smell it. At first he growled, but soon started licking my hand. "Theses poor animals get mistreated. It makes me sick."
That's when I had a good plan. "Has anyone signed in to see if they want him?"
Sarah turned to me. "You want him don't you?"
I smiled. "Yeah. I'll take care of him." The dog let me pet him and I picked him up.
"I don't think we should take him for a walk yet." I smelled him and it wasn't pleasing.
"Ugh! First you're getting a bath."
I carried him to one of the dog tubs in the other room. I didn't want him to see other people as he may go after them. Katie handed me shampoo and conditioner, and I started wiping him down with water.
"Sit boy." I tried pushing his butt down, but it was no use.
"Standings fine."

Cal's P.O.V
I told the rest of my band mates about that girl Gwen. She grabbed my attention when I first saw her she's so beautiful, and I love her laugh and smile. I caught her blushing, but after she left I forgot I was gonna ask for her number. I mapped where the dog groomers was. I decided to surprise her, and just meet her at work.
I reached the dog groomers and headed inside, the clerk just stared at me even though I'm used to it. I walked up to the counter.
"Can I help you sir?" The clerk asked.
"Yeah. Do you know where I could find a girl named Gwen Baxter?"
The clerk blinked a few times. "Gwen! Your boyfriend is here!"
I just chuckled and put my hands back in my pockets.

Gwen's P.O.V:
I looked at Katy when I heard what Sarah said. "I thought you said you and Derek are taking a break? And he never comes on Wednesday."
"I did." I wiped my hands off on a towel and let Katie take over. I peeked out the window on the door.
It's Calum.
"Katie it's Cal!" I squealed at her. Her eyes widened. "Cal that hot guy you met?" She walked over to the door and peeked out. "You weren't kidding he is hot!"
"You have no chance."
"Thanks."
I cupped my face. "I'll see you in five minutes." I sighed pushing the door open. Cal looked at me. "Hey Gwen."
"Hi." I blushed.
"Honey don't even try to hide your tomato face." Sarah laughed and turned to Cal. "That's your fault honey."
I looked up at Cal and he was smiling. He is so beautiful I could just stare at him all day.
"Do you have dog that needs a bath or a walk?" I asked.
"No, I actually came to see if you would give me your phone number. I'll give you mine if you give me yours."
I just stared at him in shock, when I heard a cough from Sarah.
"U-uh sure."
I wrote it down for him while he wrote his down. We exchanged phone numbers, and he winked at me turning around to walk out the door.
"I guess I'll talk to you later Gwen. I can always help with the dogs!"
Calum ran out the door before I could breath.
"Girl, you need to start taking speech lessons."
I stood there in shock a moment before heading back to my friend, and the washing dogs.
