The big bullys

I woke up to my alarm clock ma and pa had to go to work early so they weren't home I put a purple shirt my boot cut jeans and my boots on I put my hair in a side braid going down my right shoulder I ran out fed the horses,chickens,then the pigs I would do the cows when I get home since there farther away I ran back to the house got breakfast then I went and grabbed my bag pa had the truck so I waited for the bus.
When the bus arrived I saw Cindy I smiled at her and sat down next to her " how are you doing after Lucas ch...." She put her hand up and shook her head so I knew she didn't want to talk about it " can I ask ya something?" I said quickly she nodded " why in Tarnation did ya date that freak since he is a bully and player!" "A dare!!" She said really quickly like she wanted to dodge that bullet but wasn't fast enough I nodded we arrived at school and went to class.

when lunch finally arrived I was starved I gobbled down my steak while Cindy was picking at her Mac and cheese she was really upset I could tell I sighed and she just went and dumped her tray and left I dumped my tray shortly after I went tony locker in the hall I was grabbing my books when I heard a loud commotion "what in Tarnation?" I mumbled I looked across from me girls had a terrified look on there face I walked towards the noise I saw Lucas holding a boys shirt collar holding him against the locker I noticed Lucas starting to make a fist to punch the boy I saw the janitors cleaning supplies I grabbed the mop " I'll bring it right back I promise !" I quickly said I went closer to Lucas and the boy I quickly it the back of his knees with the mop handle Lucas fell back because I hit him pretty hard he got up and glared daggers at me " shoo!" I whispered " huh!" He replied "shoo!" I said louder "wha?!" He said again "shoo!"I said really loud this time and pushed hi with the mop hard he took steps back " shoo go on ya city boy!" I said I raised the mop ready to smack him with it he quickly raised his hands in surrender and ran off ! I returned the mop to the janitor bucket and walked to the boy sitting on the floor I sat down next to him " are you alright?" I whispered he nodded as he looked up at me he was bleeding bad " come on your bleeding pretty bad lets get you to the nurse!" I said with a gentle friendly smile he nodded I helped him up and took him to the nurse .

The nurse bandaged his cuts and we walked back to class " I am Sophia what's ya name?" I asked "Jacob." He whispered " do ya have any friends Jacob?"
"No!"
"Would ya like to be my friend Cindy and I friend ?!"
" really you would let me be your friend?!"
" of course !"
"But I should let you know I'm Lucas's little brother and I'm ashamed of that!"
" wow he even treats his own brother poorly still would ya like to be our friend?"
Jacob smiled and nodded at the end of the day on the bus ride home Jacob Cindy and I sat by each other Cindy sat by Jacob and I sat by myself we talked and talked "Jacob you and Lucas look at lot alike!" Cindy said
"Ya we are twins!" Jacob replied Cindy and I were shocked when it reached Jacobs and Lucas stop Jacob got off then Lucas got off . Couple stops later Cindy got off then I got off .

I walked to the house pa still wasn't home so I wasn't able to bring the cows there salt but I need to feed them so I went inside grabbed my cowboy hat and my 22 rifle(the picture above) in case there were rattle snakes and I could go target shooting like I love to do I strapped it on my Bach then went into the stables I haltered my horse kiwi she was a gray mare and very sweet I saddled her up then put her bridle on as I slipped her halter of I double checked the cinch then put my foot in the stirrup then pulled myself over the saddle I clicked kiwi up and we started heading to the corrals at a quick easy walk after about an hour I saw the corrals when we reached the hitching post I tied kiwi to it and dismounted I put some grain in one bucket and some water in the other then I walked off towards the cows to give them there Alfalfa hay I wasn't even half way there when I heard a rattling noise I stopped right where I was loaded my 22 I looked around I followed the rattling noise then I saw the rattle snake I put the butt of my rifle into my shoulder and then aimed I was all lined up and pulled the trigger the rattling stopped I put my gun down and looked over at the now dead rattler I sped walked to the corrals I grabbed the shovel and walked back to the snake I beheaded the snake then picked up the body and walked over to our barbed wire fence there I hung it because pa always says if you hang the snake on the fence it will bring rain!

After that I went back to the corrals put the shovel back in place and fed the cows when I finished feeding them about fifty head came up to eat with about ten calves among them they need to be branded I looked up gray clouds began to form above the green grassy hills I walked back to kiwi she finished off the water and grain I got on her and started walking back to the house we weren't even half way there when there was a loud bang of thunder and rain started pouring Down i tugged my hat down a little lower over my head me and kiwi were drenched I made kiwi take a left we walked about five minutes and I found the cave me and pa made in case there were a storm we had to get out of I dismounted and led kiwi into the cave I looked around everything was still here and in  disturbed I walked farther into the cave and led kiwi into the pen of panels me and pa put in here for the horses in case bad weather hit I took her tack off and placed them on the saddle rack "well ki the snake worked hopefully the garden gets this and we will have lots of goodies!" I chuckled that was until another blast of thunder happened scaring me " where going to be here a while" I mumbled i walked over towards the entrance of the cave and listened even through the rain I heard pa's truck rattling up the road "pa over here !" I yelled but I knew he couldn't here me I sat down against the wall watching pa's old truck rattle along the road towards the house when it parked pa ran out into the house I knew he was calling for me but I wouldn't awnser his call because he wouldn't hear me yell all the way here it's a mile away I watched he ran back out of the house into the truck towards the barn he backed up in the barn he would now realize kiwis not there he's most likely hooking up the trailer I was right he came back out of the barn with the trailer going over the now muddy road but the truck still raddled in four wheel drive he turned left and now was heading straight for the cave he knew I was here he backed the trailer up as far as he could he then jumped out and opened the trailer door " just get kiwi in we will get your tack later!" He said I nodded and lead kiwi into the trailer I then ran into the truck with dad and we both ran in to the truck once we were inside out if the rain me and dad smiled " ok Sophia tell me the story!" He chuckled " rattler hanging on the fence brought rain after cows where fed oh and about 50 head came up with about 10 no brands!" I blurted out smiling we both were smiling then dad frowned " Sophie we are going to have a guest for two months "
"Ok so!"
" he is in your grade goes to the same school as you and he is spoiled his dad wants him to work for a while !"
" ok then we'll what's his name?"
"Lucas!"
I gasped no not him anyone but him
"PA no anyone but him !"
"Sorry Hun it's already arranged "
" I would rather stay with rattlers for two month then that city boy!"
" I'm sorry Sophie but it's already settled you have until summer break before he arrives !"
" dad this is senior year last year of high school he can't stay during break what if what if what if he has to end up staying longer!"
" well maybe if he stays longer he will turn into a great cowboy hey that's an idea !"
"Pa no two months is long enough!"
He smiles when we took kiwi out of the trailer unhitched the trailer and got back up to the house I hugged and kissed pa goodnight and went up to bed thinking about our conversation what would mom think I can't gossip with her because she's up in Maine visiting her sister while I'm down here in Arizona. School is going to pass Offaly quick I just know it .
