Eliza
While I was softly working on the video, my two favorite boys came bursting into the office. Screaming my name.
"Eliza/Mom!"
My heart instantly picked up speed with fear and I stood up, ready to fix whatever the problem was. However, there was no problem, I was just greatly missed. Sam wrapped his small arms around my legs while Michael grabbed my jawline and kissed me powerfully. As much as I enjoyed the kiss- what the hell was going on? After a long day of work, my family and I hurried home to get ready to celebrate my son's birthday for tomorrow. It was a warm summer's Friday. While I was doing last minute touch ups on my hair, I heard Michael's phone going off.
"Eliza, Sam, Gav and Cas are ready!" Michael yelled to us.
"I'm going to ride the biggest ride there! Mom will you go with me?" My son asked while I walked out of the bathroom. I gave him a smile.
"You think you are going to."
"Hey! I'm not a baby!" He puffed out his chest and clenched his fists. I looked over at Michael who was smirking.
"You might not be a baby, but your my baby!" Michael made his voice sound squeaky while he ran over to his son, swinging him up in the air and then cradling him. I smiled while I gathered our things together. I had a backpack filled with drinks and other necessities.
"Come on boys, people are waiting!" I left my voice hanging in the air while I swung the front door open. My husband flew out the door like an airplane while my son was his passenger. I trailed behind, making sure the door is locked. The drive up there was surprisingly quick. It was far from silent because of my son's constant talking. I tried keeping up but he reminded me of a ping pong ball. My husband was in his own world. We finally arrived with adrenaline surging through us. His talking was quickly silenced when Michael, well, ordered him to just stop talking. I looked over at Sam who was just calmly swinging his feet and staring out the window. I smiled and waited for Michael to park. Gavin parked right next to us, thankfully we stayed together through the whole ride so we could do this. As we piled out, Sam ran over to his uncle, hugging him. He gave a tight but quick hug to Cassia.
"Alright! Are you guys ready to have some fun?" Michael asked, smiling wide. The lights from the carnival bounced off his wide eyes, making them brighter. The rest of us cheered a yes while heading towards the fun.
"Samuel, you need to hold mommy's or daddy's hand at all times. If you let go and you were not ordered too mommy and daddy will be extremely-"
"I know, i know! Very mad!" He groaned, not paying an ounce of attention towards me. I sighed while Michael gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"He's great with this type of stuff."
"I know, I just-- Never mind." I said, giving up. Michael just took hold of my free hand, while my other one was occupied with Sam's sweaty but small hand. We had to pay a entrance fee. We took Cassia's and Gavin's tickets of course. Sam rudely pulled me, causing both of us to skip Michael and everyone else.
"Sam-" I was about to give him a lecture on how it was rude to just skip people in line, even if it was your father but Michael took a hold of my hand once again.
"Babe, it's his birthday, loosen up, okay?" He told me, raising his eyebrows up. I raised my eyebrows and looked down, symbolizing that I had surrendered. He just gave my lips a small kiss. We began walking around, laughing and talking. All of the boys would play little games like a simulator of basketball or a water gun game. The two adults would always let my son win. His arms were filled with stuffed animals. While we walked around, I began noticing my surroundings. The noise level was very high so everyone was naturally talking louder than the average level. The lights that flashed around us were almost blinding. As I glanced up at the night sky, it was lighted by the flashing lights however it revealed that there were storm clouds rolling in. Hopefully we wouldn't be rained out. Everyone's shoulders were right up against each other's since it was the first night opening and everyone was dying to come to this carnival since it only comes once a year. The large crowd made my chest squeeze quite a bit since I had a little one running around, right next to me.
"Can we ride rides now?" Samuel squeaked, looking up at his father.
"Hell ye-"
"Michael." I scowled him for swearing. He just rolled his eyes and continued.
"Of course buddy, what do you want to ride first?"
His first ride was this small roller coaster that went around in circles. You sat in a cart that was back to back with other carts. It had fast speed, so fast that you would be pushed to the side. Pop music blared in your ears since the whole thing had surround sound. Cassia was a huge fan of spinning as well as I. Michael and Gavin found an even bigger ride that wouldn't allow Samuel's height in.
"So, we'll meet at that food stand?" Gavin asked, pointing to the vendor that was direction in the middle of the two rides. I nodded, not having the energy to just scream a yes over the noise. Cassia took Sam's left hand while I had his right. Since Sam was so small and us girls were on the skinnier side, we were able to squeeze us three in a cart, Sam in the middle.
Michael
"So, welcome to the marriage life, buddy." I began, I haven't gotten the chance to actually talk to my boi since his wedding day. He flashed me a pearly white smile and ran his fingers through his hair.
"It's crazy if you ask me, she answered the phone this morning by saying "Hello, this is Cassia Free."--It sounded so-"
"Right?" I asked, looking up at him. His smile grew while his head bobbed up and down.
"Yeah, right." He agreed with my choice of description.
"Wait until you have a kid running around that looks almost exactly like you. Then, has your personality as well? Holy fuck." I gazed out. He belted his laugh and wiped his mouth.
"God, a bloody child. I still can't get over the fact that you have a bloody son! You're a father, mikey! Michael RageQuit Jones is a father, ladies and gentlemen!" He announced to no one. He flung up his arms while we stood in line. I grabbed his wrist and pulled his hand down while his lips went up.
"Shut up, wouldya?" I asked, smirking.
"But really man, being married is great. You're going to love it. Especially since your wife is Cassia." I told him. He shoved his hands in his pockets, beginning to think about his wife. I chuckled and looked up at the ginormous ride. This should be fun.
