~Philip~
"I finally evolved my Growlithe into an Arcanine, took me ages to find that Fire Stone," Phil beamed with happiness at the evolution of his Pokemon. Dan, Chris and PJ were sitting at their usual table geeking out about their Pokemon teams. It was pretty much tradition now to sit there. The teachers always piled up work during class it was impossible to interact with each other and lunch was their only hope.
"I have a sick Dragonite with Thunder Punch-" Dan pipped in, but Phil's attention was now diverted throughout the whole cafeteria ignoring what he was saying. His head turned and looked everywhere for a sight of a blond headed student, his fringe getting a little all over the place covering his eye sight a bit. Alas, to no avail. He repositioned himself in his chair and sighed in relief knowing Kathy wasn't around. He slumped back in his chair his hoodie covering up his neck and his back enjoying the release of tension.
"-right, Phil?" Phil became suddenly aware that he was in lunch and Dan talking about how the Elite 4 were practically impossible to beat. He jumped back in his seat maintaining his back straight with posture "Huh? Right, the Elite 4 is so hard! Imagine the champ-" Phil was suddenly disrupted by a familiar noise that always sent steam coming out of his ears.
The sudden rapid clanking of heels brought Phil's mood down in a split second. His shoulders fell and saw a wave of beautiful, golden hair to his right as he turned back around to face his plate staring at his greenbeans. He's had enough of her bubbly voice throughout the whole week, it'd drive him up the walls and out of the room. At the corner of his eye he saw PJ staring at him, worry filling his eyes. This only infuriated Phil a bit more than he already was, which he thought was impossible at this point. Without doing any movements to his head, he shifted his eyes to his left towards PJ to get a clearer view if he was really looking at him. PJ quickly jerked his eyes as soon as Phil did to him, back at the upcoming Kathy who was just steps to the table the boys were sitting in making it seem he wasn't staring at him.
Kathy finally reached the table, out of breath. Phil wondered why she was in such a hurry. Probably making sure her makeup and hair is perfect for Dan. She panted, placing a hand of Dan's right shoulder trying to talk in between breaths. "Sorry I'm late, boys. ." she finally spoke, her voice still as bubbly as ever. Oh no. It's fine. Really.
Phil, still staring at his plate, his back now slouched saw PJ staring at him again like he wanted to say something. "Hey, Dan! Phil, PJ, Chris. . how's it been?" she asked us taking her seat next to Dan each day seemingly inching closer and closer to him, like always. "Oh, I've been great actually," Dan spoke first, making Kathy giggle and blush more than she had already applied to herself. This sent Phil more steam up the roof he could have sworn the fire alarm would turn on any second now.
Everyone but PJ didn't seem to notice Phil's lack of emotion and words whenever Kathy came to chat. Not even Dan. He'd look back at him once or twice but would immediately look away at Kathy as soon as she spoke a word.
"Phil, do you have a moment please? In private. ." . PJ said in the lowest voice he could, but still loud enough for only Phil to hear. Phil jumped as he was so into thought, looking back at PJ who was inches away from him. Phil nodded, and him and PJ got up and walked far enough to where the many muffled voices from the cafeteria drowned theirs from their table so they could be unable to hear.
"You alright, mate? You always seem very tense when Kathy is around. ." he points out, looking over Phil's shoulder back at the table and back at Phil again. Phil looks down at his feet unable to think of a reply to his question. He finally musters up the intent to talk saying "Yeah, I'm alright. I guess you could say I get a bit-" "Jealous?" PJ interrupted. Phil rubbed his neck, removing his fringe out of his sight with the other hand. He sighed, "Yeah, I guess so." He chuckled giving a embarrassed smile thinking how stupid that must sound. "It's alright, Phil! You're allowed to feel like that. I mean, he is your boyfriend." PJ contorted, adding an emphasis on 'your'. PJ placed a hand on his shoulder trying to comfort his feeling. Phil looked into his bright green eyes, turning more of a shade of yellow for a second in the white light of the school cafeteria suddenly his eyes filling with worry for him. "Yeah, you have a point. Thanks, Peej."
The bell rang throughout the room signaling lunch was over, barely able to hear as the room was crowded with muffled voices. "We should head back," Phil offered before they could be any more late to class. The boys headed back to their table as Phil saw Kathy pull out Dan for what he thought was a private chat. This really struck Phil's nerve to the brim, but Phil was too sweet to lash out on anyone. He never desired pain on other, so he never did and never will.
He decided to ignore it, placing some books into his backpack and throwing it over his shoulder and catching a few words Kathy said. ". . alright. . . study. . .test. ." He didn't want to eavesdrop their conversation, but he couldn't resist himself from hearing as he slowly walked out of the cafeteria, bumping into some students making it harder to listen. ". .my house?. . "
Phil had enough, he looked over to where Kathy and Dan were to see them embracing each other in a tender hug. Phil closed his eyes, taking deep breaths to try and calm himself. He wasn't a great person with jealousy. .
He heard the clanking of Kathy's fade away into the mob of students as he turned behind him to see PJ's hand on his shoulder behind him smiling at telling him it was going to be okay. He nodded and headed towards Dan was to walk with him towards class.
"Hey, um. ." Phil said gesturing to where Kathy just left with a worried expression in his face. The muffled voices began to clear out of the cafeteria making Dan's voice clearer. "Oh, about Kathy? Don't worry, she just wanted for me to help her study for a test she has next Monday. We can hang out afterwards if you'd like." Dan replied smiling. Phil couldn't stand but smile too at the sight of Dan being extremely happy and giggly.
"Why are you so happy today?" Phil asked laughing and smiling with Dan. "I don't know! I think its because-" he started, but finished the sentence my planting a passionate kiss on Phil's lips, making Phil stop halfway to smile from ear to ear. "Sorry," he said laughing and returning the kiss. "Come one, lets head to class," Dan said, holding Phil's hand in a sweet embrace as they walked together through the school halls.
