You both wake up to an average morning, filled with coffee, Mizore's cooking (Might as well have just eaten cereal – it was frozen solid), and watching TV, but the events of the night before remain in your head... what about you keeps reminding her of her past? How can you help her to move on from those awful, tragic events which plague her mind?
The bat flies onto the balcony, carefully eyeing you to make sure he isn't swatted. He's bandaged up from being squished so hard last chapter! "In case you didn't read the last chapter, your ass got denied whee! Mizore's past caught up to her, and you two couldn't do 'the do'! She cried, whee! Too bad, I wanted to watch... whee..."
As you prepare to leave the hotel, Mizore puts forth a proposition. "Hey, you know, we're awfully close to the village I grew up in... We're gonna visit it, right?"
You're awfully tired of being away from Yokai already, but you know the feeling of being away from family for a long time is much worse, so you decide to agree. Plus, you already said you would...
When you arrive to the foot of the mountain route to Yuki-Onna, the first thing you notice is the immense winter temperatures. Snow is piled on the ground in feet, and ice covers anything and everything. You're starting to realize why the famous Snow Women of legend decided to settle a village here; there's plenty of ice to manipulate and build with. Mizore also starts acting quite strangely. She's more lovey than usual, and keeps looking down as if she's embarrassed about something. She grabs your hand tightly, and even blows a few kisses your way .
The scenery in this area is gorgeous, and the wintery landscape is a welcomed change, despite being colder than any other place you've ever visited. "Damn Mizore... it must be 30 below up here..."
"Don't worry about it, I'll keep you safe." She opens her jacket, and lets you huddle under.
You try to determine if she's blushing or not, but the cloud cover and the blizzard-like conditions make it impossible to see her face in great detail.
"Just keep holding my hand, (Y/N)! We're almost there."
Finally. It's too cold for anything but an icicle out here. Snowflakes cover your eyelashes and weigh your hair down as you press on, eager to arrive at your destination. You try to see her beautiful face again, and you can make out an ecstatic smile. You love that she's happy, but you're scared that you may get frostbite in these kind of conditions.
"Mizore... how... much... further..." You feel your legs quiver underneath your body, as if they're about to give way... Your hands are shaking immensely now, and her jacket isn't helping much. The wind is also blowing your moist breath in your face, making small icicles build on your cheeks.
"We're a few feet away now, just keep coming!"
You see the corners of your vision start to fade out to black, and you start stumbling.
"(Y/N)!"
It's too cold. You can't go any further in this...
"(Y/N)..."
Your legs give way, and you land face-first into an ice-glazed rock. Your vision slowly fades to black, and you can't fight it anymore... your vision fades completely, and the last thing you can recall before slipping into darkness is Mizore's deep purple eyes staring down at you...
Stick around for a new chapter every one to two days! (A few new ones will be posted today, 7/9!)
