The next couple of days pass by in a haze of regret... She tried to save you, and that's why she's in the infirmary now with those terrible, painful lacerations down her back.

After a few depressing days, Mizore starts to stir, often fluttering her eyes as if she's waking up from a long, laborious coma. You hope that these signs mean that she'll awaken soon, and at one point she even muttered your name under her breath, causing even more belief that she's feeling better. Signs are still not looking up for Mizore, however... her core temperature is similar to that of a cool autumn day, which is much too warm for a Yuki Onna. A few visitors have also come to see her, most notably Tsukune and Moka, who were both in tears that the incident happened.

"I can't believe... I can't believe that Mizore is like this..." Moka stared at you with sad, dead-looking eyes. Tsukune simply nodded under his cowl, and visibly started shedding tears. "I... I just hope she doesn't die..."

Another visitor was the aforementioned blue-haired succubus, Kurono Kurumu. She immediately started weeping and sobbing into Mizore's chest, terribly shaken up by this occurrence. You introduced yourself to her, but when you offered to shake her hand, she pushed it away. "You're the one we trusted to keep her safe, and you didn't do that. I won't forgive you..."

"Kurumu, you have to believe me! I tried with all of my might to stop it! If it weren't for me, she would be dead!"

Kurumu glares at you with pure hatred in her eyes, quivering and shaking in anger... "But if it weren't for you, she wouldn't have put her life on the line, now would she have, (Y/N)?!"

Her response goes deep under your skin, piercing your heart... you start having to choke back tears... Kurumu leaves the room in an irritated huff, and Moka puts her hand on your shoulder...

"(Y/N), she didn't mean that... she has a tendency to say things she doesn't mean..."

You try to take her advice, but honestly it seems like Kurumu was right... you start shedding a few tears, and look down at your snowflake with sad pity. Mizore risked her life for you, but you should have had enough power to risk your life for Mizore, the person most special to you.

The rest of the night, you stay by Mizore's side at the infirmary, hoping and wishing that she will make a hasty recovery, but with her core temperature constantly rising and her vital signs getting much too weak, it isn't looking up for the Yukionna. The next day, however, more signs of recovery begin to reveal themselves. When you grab her hand gently, you could feel her squeeze it oh-so-lightly, a sweet and touching sign of recovery. As far as the gouges in her back from the bark, they've also slowly started healing with the help of a 14 year old witch named Yukari Sendo.

"Mizore's my friend too, desu." She explains that she and Mizore go way back, and while Yukari didn't always like Mizore, the snow fairy grew to be one of Yukari's best friends. "We were even rivals in love, but Tsukune was and always will be mine, and nothing will stop me from getting my dream of sleeping with him and Moka at the same time... a Yukari sandwich..."

You throw a "What the hell?" look to Yukari for this strange remark, shocked that this 14 year old witch is crushing on the 18 year old (and taken) Tsukune and talking about sex with him... Yukari stares back, and then whispers "Don't judge my fantasies, desu."

The day after the meeting with Yukari, you arrive at the infirmary at around 10am. To your shock, Mizore is awake and talking to the nurse! She glances over to the door, then practically jumps out of bed with joy. "(Y/N)!"

The IV machine goes haywire as Mizore's heartbeat skyrockets, and you hurriedly dash over to her and meet her lips in a passion-filled kiss. Her lips are surprisingly warm this time, and you feel pain in your heart because you know she's suffering... still, she sheds a few tears when she sees you, which you gracefully wipe off her rosy cheeks. You didn't even notice, but she even had the lollipop still in her mouth the whole time.

"I'm so glad to see you! Oh my God, you were insane! How did you fight like that, (Y/N)?"

"I just... I don't know... seeing her throw you around like a ragdoll sent me over the edge..."

She stares deep into your eyes, but then peers down with a defeated expression... "I'm sorry that I couldn't protect you..."

You glare at her with wide eyes, astonished that she has no self-pity whatsoever. "Mizore! It's not your fault, I should have been the one to protect you! Don't you dare think that you had to pro..."

She cuts you off with another passionate kiss. The nurses turn away, jealous of your love and sickened by the passion. Mizore stares straight into your eyes, then mutters, "Just shut up. We both want to protect each other, and did what we had to do."

You sit in silence together, and you arrive at the conclusion that she's right... that doesn't really help the guilt you feel inside, however... you should have been the first of you both to fight... Kurumu decides to stop by, and immediately jumps for joy that Mizore is awake. "THANK GOD (Y/N)'S STUPIDITY DIDN'T GET YOU KILLED, MIZORE!"

Mizore slaps her across the face angrily for that remark, then mutters, "I wouldn't be alive without (Y/N) right now."

Kurumu sits down next to the gernie, shocked that she got slapped and a little bit insulted. "Well, if I were you, I wouldn't be so thankful, Mizore. (Y/N) left you to defend yourself, and almost got you killed for (His/Her) own sake..."

"Just shut up, Kurumu. You don't know the whole story."

"LIKE WHAT? WHAT DON'T I KNOW?"

"That (Y/N)'s power was unknown until the day we were attacked and that (He/She) had no clue how to use it."

Kurumu glances back at you, then huffs at her own conversational defeat. "Well, (Y/N) still dragged both of you down."

The bat swoops down the infirmary corridor, landing on the end of the bed. "Hi, whee! The author wants to say sorry for this chapter being so short, it's just that he's been busy with college lately, whee! Expect that it won't be updated daily anymore, and more like once every three days. Sorry about that, but college IS first, and he doesn't want to waste his money and video game design is his passion that he's glad to study in post-secondary education, whee! Again, if you liked it and want more, please vote and add Snow Fairy to your reading lists! It helps the author keep motivated to write more of Snow Fairy.
