Ch.18

                                        Chapter Eighteen 

I woke up to someone nudging me. "babe." "babe wake up." I slightly opened my eyes looking up at Drew. "what?" I said groggy. "it's noon." "What!" I said sitting straight up. "yes it's noon and I wanted to take you somewhere." "Where?" "well, it's a surprise so get dressed just casually." "Kay." I got up out of bed and dressed in black leggings ugg boots a white long-sleeve shirt my hair up in a high ponytail and a red bow in my hair. I put on mascara and eyeliner with nude-colored lipstick. I walked out and sat in the living room going through my purse.

"you ready?" "yeah just let me put my wallet and phone in my purse." "ok let's go." I got up and we walked to his car. we got in. "here put this on." he handed me a blindfold. "why?" "just do it." I put it on trusting him but felt cautious. we drove for what felt like an hour. he took off the blindfold on me and showed me where we were. "where are we?" I was looking at a little restaurant with a little waterfall and a garden around the front. "well we never had a first date so this is our first date." "awe drew!" I hugged him and we went inside.

the lady sat us down at a 2 seater table and took our drink orders. "OK, Miranda now I took you out to eat Don't be one of those girls that are like oh I will just eat a salad 'cause I don't like eating in front of you, or it's too expensive." "psh drew I'm not and you know it I eat like a cow in front of you and if it's too expensive then I might eat less than normal." "Don't get whatever you want." "but." "no, but I make good money when my father died he gave me half the money and my mom the other half." my eyes went wide. "so you're rich?!" "yeah, I guess you could say that." "why didn't you tell me you could have quit your teaching job." "Well, I don't want to quit because I like teaching." "well do whatever you like babe I will support you either way for rich or for poor." he smiled "You watch too many wedding movies.'' "No, I don't I watch a couple I don't watch them too often."

the lady came back with our drinks and took our order drew ordered the steak with fries and I ordered the same. we talked for a while and ate. After we ate and paid we went out in front and sat by the waterfall. "Miranda, would you be my girlfriend from now to the day we get married if god will let that happen?" 'awe drew OF COURSE I WILL!" he stood up and kissed me.

"so how does it feel?" "What does what feel?" 'being free of your brother and Jackson." "Oh, it feels nice to know I do not have to pretend everything is ok when I'm getting hurt all the time." "Well good I just wish I would have done something I couldn't bear to see you get hurt like that." "It's okay Drew it's not your fault I wouldn't have let you do something anyway." "Why not?" "Because I didn't want you to get involved in something you would regret." "Trust me I wouldn't have regretted anything if it meant saving you."

I smiled and kissed him.

we went back to his house and watched some movies and then there was a ring at the door. I went and opened it. to my surprise, it was my mom and Dan. "Mom, Dan?" "Hey, sweetie." "come in." they came in and Drew paused the TV and they sat down on the couch next to the one I and Drew sat on. "why are you here?" "well, we just wanted to see you and drew and finally meet him after all this time." "oh ok." "Hi, Mrs. winters and dan." "hey." Dan said shaking his hand and keeping a straight face as if he was being a protective brother which I giggled to myself about. "hello dear." "so what would you like to know about me or about mine and Miranda's relationship?" "Have you two had sex yet?" "Mom!" "It's a question I need to know as a mother." "no, we have not." Drew nervously laughed.

"Good." my mom sighed. "so why did you like my sister." Dan asked straight out. "well when I met her I knew there was something about her that was different and would be a challenge and when she was playing the I don't care game it made me want her more because she was just perfect my eyes." drew said smiling at me. "ok I approve for now." my mom said in awe. "I'm not impressed," Dan said. My mom gave a stale look toward Dan smacking him on the back of the head.
