I wasn't sure now, whether I was going to forget what happened today, it was bad enough it happened, the electric currents raced through my body, when we first met and then being brought into his body, making me nervous even more. I didn't have time to think about it, or question it simply because it was moving day.
My best friend Anne whom I missed so much, was not only in the same city as me but also moving into my tiny flat. It was a small two bedroom unit. The spare room wasn't used anymore and now someone was finally going to use it, well it was going to fun.
After work when I was allowed to go home, I ran into Steven on my way out. 'Hello Roomie.' He said, his English accent was very soothing. Steven put his arm through mine, and we walked off linking arms, walking into the elevator.
'So what do you think of the new boss man. Nat.' Steven always called me Nat, over the years that just stuck. No one else in my life called me by it.
'I'm not sure Steve, it's only been a day. He expects only that I work hard, and follow his rules, and so far I've been able to do that.' I said trying not to blush. Steven was always one to tease a person, especially me.
We went to Henry's Coffee Shop to pick up Anne, they had an old company car from Stevens last job and of course got to keep it, when they transferred from Newcastle to here. I gave them instructions on how to get to my flat. Soon we arrived just in time to find, the moving truck arriving.
My little flat was really nothing to see, it had white panelling on the outside with two little Windows on the front with small window sills. I was never a green thumb so the sills were bare and so was my lawn. I mowed every couple of weeks.
If your wondering why I'm living in a two bedroom flat, if I'm struggling financially, well it's simple. My loving Papa use to live with me. Until he got Pneumonia, he never recovered from it. I had fond memories here and I could bare to leave, now that I had company, I'd be able to afford it.
Don't get me wrong it's not an excuse, I have some savings thanks to Papa and now with the job I have at Mulberry Enterprises I was going to save as much as I could. I do want to move eventually, don't get me wrong but right now, I find it very hard to make the move. Maybe one day.
With the help of the movers and Steven, I was able to move furniture out of the way so that, they were able to move freely, with their furniture and boxes. Not everything could fit of course, they were only using one room so the rest of his furniture was going to be put into storage.
Once the furniture and boxes were inside, Stephen went with the movers to show them where the storage centre was, that left Anne and I to put my furniture back in place. After putting the bed up in the spare room, and dressing it, we took out their knick knacks and the bedroom things out of the boxes, they were unpacked and set up, by the time Steven got back, we were ready for a cup of tea.
We sat in the lounge room, Anne and I were on the couch, while Steven was sitting in an arm chair. 'Thanks again for letting us stay Nat. We weren't sure how things we going to go into place, then when you bumped into us, I knew then we were going to be alright.' Steven thanked me again, I was happy to have them here, they had no idea. 'NYC is such a big place, the fact that Anne bumped into you at the coffee shop, well it had to be fate.' Steven was big on fate, I never shared his view, but we always like to banter about our views. Somethings never change.
'More like a coincidence Steven. I just happen to be at the right place, at the right time. It's the same with Mulberry's company, it's a huge, famous bank. Your bound to find yourself there.' I said shaking my head at him. I was smiling of course but he took the bait. I took a drink of my tea and waited for a response, it didn't take long. We ended up bantering off and on until it was time to get on with the unpacking.
