❤️What If I Love You?

I storm into the snow, wondering if I would ever regret this, breaking out of the door without a clear explanation. Without looking at which direction I am heading towards, I keep on going.

"Wait, Roxy!" Alec shouts behind me, chasing after me. I speed up into the darkness, but no matter how quick I go, Alec always goes faster than I do. He knows what's happening, I know he does. He knows me that much. That's what happen when you're best friend with a guy since three years old.

"Roxy!" He grabs my arm, prevending me from walking away. "Just tell me what I did wrong, and I'll fix it. I'll make it up to you, promise."

"No Alec." I turn around so as to face him, "As I said, I just needed to grab a drink."

"But you're not even heading to the drink shop!" He says, staring at me right in the eyes. "Is it because of Tiffany?" He asks.

"Alec, you can make out with any girl you want," I answer as calmly as I can, "and it has nothing to do with me."

"Roxy, why are you suddenly acting like a jelous girlfriend?" He frowns.

"Alec." I say softly, "Let me go."

"No, Roxy!" He yells, "Tell me!  Is it Tiffany?"

"YES!" I cry out. "What if I love you, Alec? What if I do? Have you ever consider about it?"

After a moment of silence, we keep staring at each other, wordlessly.

Slowly, I swallow and shake off his hand. "I don't, Alec. I really don't."

Gently I push his stiff-still body a little backward, turning back to my direction. Life, I assume, isn't always as it seems. In fact, nothing is.

All of a sudden, he pulls me back into his arms, leaning in and, to my surprise, pressing his lips to mine. My eyes widen to shock, that's when everything comes down and hits me all in one single moment.

Alec Waters is kissing me.

My childhood best friend is kissing me.

The love of my life is kissing me.

Against my own will, I push him back and pull my body backwards. After a few blinks, we stare at each other again, his eyes seem so complicated, unreadable.

"You're drunk, Alec." I say.

"Roxy, I know what I'm doing." He says, looking so serious that I wonder if the guy in front of me is really Alec, "And I'll know it if you're lying to me."

He knows me too well, I've always consider this a good thing, up until now, I wish he doesn't. Meanwhile, I wish me myself don't love him.

I open my mouth, but there's no words coming out, instead, his words occur first. "I love you, too, Roxy."

I stare at him in disbelief, this can't be happening.

His lips find mine again, it isn't a gentle kiss like the one before, it's more of a firece one. I feel his hands tighten around my waist, his touch is strong against my skin. I wrap an arm around him, sliding my hand up his neck and into his hair. My heart is pounding fastly in my throat, electricity runs through my fingers.

He pulls away a little to catch his breath, a smile hangs across my face.

"I love you, Alec."

A cold wind blows down the street, but I've never felt this warm in my entire life.
