Anara found a lawyer who would not have a fee unless they lost, so Anara was hopeful that they would win because she needed to keep that money to pay for the treatment, and of course she wanted to win, this man hurt her baby. Sam was able to come to the court in a wheelchair, because she had lost so much blood and was still rebuilding her strength. Her arm was heavily wrapped to help heal her bone and keep the wound closed.
That day turned out to be in their favor, because they won the case! It went like this, first the man denied any of this ever happening. Then, seeing the neither the judge nor the jury was taking any of that bull crap, he pled guilty. Though he said it wasn't his fault. He stated that his girlfriend forced him to drink so much to the point where he became drunk and shot her. His girlfriend was also there, and denied that too. She stated that he was known to be drunk and had drunkenly abused her. She had scars to prove it, and some of the neighbors said that he was often seen intoxicated. The jury decided in him having to pay them a large amount of money to Anara and Sam, and would never be able to own another gun in his life. After all this, his girlfriend slapped him right across the face and dumped him. Anara and Sam were happy as could be.
