"Are you sure?" The she~cat looked into the starry pool. An image of a young grey kit sat still in the reflection. "He is just a kit." The she~cat looked up at the tom in front of her, waiting for an answer.
The tom didn't look to her. "It's him" The tom assured the she~cat "He is the one to full fill the prophecy."
"He could have a great future ahead of him as a warrior." She looked back into the pool with a sad gaze "Why must you do this?"
This time the tom looked up "It's him or the whole clan." His meow risen to a angry hiss "Do you wish this onto every one?" He lowered his voice agin and repeated "Him or the whole clan."
The she~cat nodded "I understand." she mewed. Even tho she still did not agree.
The tom whipped his tail over the pool. It rippled then showed another vision of the kit. This time he was asleep against his mothers belly, next to his two litter mates.
"You will speak no word about this to anyone, Foxstar." The tom growled
"Why can I not speak of this to Amberstar?" Foxstar questioned. "Thunderclan must know what to expect."
"It's a prophecy" The tom meowed "There will come a time to warn her."
The tom whipped his tail over the pool agin. A more gruesome and horrifying image appeared. "There will be dark times among all the clans." His voice grew dull "The most we can do is watch and hope for the best."
Foxstar drew back from the pool and let out a cry of terror. "Why must this happen Shadeclaw?"
"We can not always control what happens Foxstar. I know your new to Starclan, but you will learn in time." Shadeclaw whipped his tail over the pool to remove the images. "You will speak to Amberstar" he added "Soon."
After a few heartbeats of silence Foxstar got to her paws "This kit," she asked softly "will be the warrior who saves them. Not just of Thunderclan, but to all? What is special about him?"""He has the power of Starclan," Shadeclaw meowed " Speed, strength, agility, and the heart of a warrior."
"Don't forget kindness." A new voice joined in. "Speed, strength, agility and a warriors heart are nothing compared to the kindness this cat will show to all his clan mates. He is truly the one."
"Well Timberfall, it's about time you showed up." Shadeclaw dipped his head in respect for the old she~cat. "We were discussing the prophecy."
Foxstar copied Shadeclaw and dipped her head to Timberfall. "Lovely to see you agin." She mewed
Timberfall padded toward the pool. "Is this him?" She looked down at the kits reflection.
Shadeclaw sat next to her. "Yes."
Timberfall leaned over the pool. "It is only he who can cure a disease so vile and solve a war so gruesome." She shook her head "His future will be a river. There will be points where he drowns and other times where he is gasping for air. Yet he will always remain at the surface until his time comes."
All three cats gathered around the pool as the starry pool rippled away the kits image. "The prophecy has begun." Timberfall meowed "It is time for Amberstar to know."
"What do I tell her?" Foxstar nervously shifted her paws.
Timberfall leaned closer to Foxstar "That is for you to figure out."
Timberfall looked Foxstar in the eyes "Do not speak of what you have seen in the pool. A prophecy is for Amberstar and whomever she shares it with to figure it out."
Foxstar nodded then looked into the pool "Good luck." Shadeclaw mewed.
