Goku laid there trying to fight the virus. Trying to claim victory. Akari, his wife, sat there by his side praying he would win. Praying he would stay...with her and their baby. She held his hand as she cried pleading for his life.
.......................

Gohan hurried home to be with his father. He wasted no time getting home. He jumped on rocks and avoided obstacles. He hoped and prayed he would make it on time.
..........................

At the Son house, everyone, except Vegeta, stood in a circle waiting for any news about Goku. Puar and Oolong looked around for Gohan. They spot him.

"Hey Gohan!" Oolong greeted him.
...........................

"Please, my dear Kami, don't take him...I love him..." Akari sobbed.

Goku held her hand tightly,"Akari, my sweet, looks like I won't win this fight.

"Don't say that...you will win! You have to y-you can't leave me...not now...I need you! Gohan and Miko need you!" she cried.

"I have to sweatheart. Please be strong, for the kids. Please, take care of our children and yourself. Promise me. Just know that I love you so very very much and always will...forever. "

With that he left her.

"Goku!? Goku no! Don't leave me...I'll die without you...I love you too...I promise."

Gohan bursted into the room to see his father dead. Akari jerked her head in his direction and gasped.

"Gohan, I'm so sorry. He's gone!" She sobbed.

Gohan was starstrucked,"Gone?"

He was too late...
...................

Krillin's eyes widen,"He's gone! Goku's gone!"

Everybody was stunned by the news.

"Ka...karot," Vegeta said with shock in his tone.

That day, they lost a hero...a friend...they lost Goku.
...........................

In the meadow, under a tree, was where they buried Goku in the rain. The weather was appropriate for the occasion. Everyone gathered telling Akari and Gohan how sorry they were for their loss.

They all took turns saying something about Goku, whether it was about what they admired about Goku or a fond memory of him. Akari took her turn to say a little something about the man she loved.

"H-hey guys. Thank you for coming. I know Goku would appreciate you all for coming here. Goku was much more than a friend or a husband or a father...he was a hero...m-my hero. He cared more about the greater good of others than himself. He had a heart of gold. But he was taken too soon from us...and we a-all miss him...Goku was everything to me. He was my husband...I loved him!" Tears spilled from her eyes. "I miss him...so much! I hate him for leaving me and his children...but I forgive him..." she looked at the casket,"Goku, you left me behind sweetheart...but I forgive you...and I promise to be strong...I love you,...my hero. I'll see you again when my time come."

After her speech, she kissed his cheek before they buried him. Akari threw herself on the grave and cried. Soon after, everyone left but Akari and Gohan, who was carrying a baby Miko. They were both silent.

"Mom, are you OK?" Gohan asked.

"No, I'm not, Gohan," she answered. "Are you ok?"

He shook his head,"No."

Gohan looked at her tear stained face. He hugged her and she hugged him back crying again.

"Oh Gohan...I'm so sorry..."

Gohan let a few tears escape from his eyes.

"I love you mom...I wish I could bring him back...for you."

"I love you too, sweetheart. I wish I could bring him back too, but we have to be strong for Miko, OK?"

"I will. I promise!"

They looked at the grave as silence filled the air around them.
