Getting to know Her

Colby's POV

I asked Sam if he wanted to go out for some pizza. I neglected to tell him that Savannah was going. He then asked Devin, Reed, and Cody.

Awesome!

It was Saturday and I was ready to go and waiting on Sam. I grabbed the keys and ran down to the car. I started the engine and waited for Sam. Sam opened his door but just stood there staring at me. I had a huge smirk on my face. He tried to get in but I drove slightly forward. He glared at me and tried again and i did it again. He glared at me intensely and then jumped into the car slamming the door behind him. I do that to him every time I drive.

We made it to the pizzeria. Sam and I walked inside and seen Devin and Reed sitting in a corner booth. We walked over to them and Sam sat down on the inside. "Cody had last minute changes." Reed shrugged. I shrugged. I heard the bell from the door and looked. It was Savannah. She looked around and then spotted our table. She smiled and started to walk over to us.

"Hi..." She whispered shyly.
     "Hey!" I exclaim waving.
"So where should I sit?" She asks looking at the booth seats.
     "You can actually sit next to Reed because I have to go." Devin answers staring down at his phone in concern. I know that look and trust me when you see it you have to just let him go.

We ordered two medium pizzas. One with bacon and pepperoni and the other with green olives and pepperoni. We all dug in to our slices and chatted pleasantly. Savannah was amazing. She didn't seem shy at all. She seemed comfortable.

Here's what I now know about her just from one night!

She loves animals. Actually most of her summer breaks were consumed by jobs with all sorts of animal care. Like at an animal shelter. At a zoo. Pretty much anything to do with animals.

Her family moves a lot and she never had much time to make any friends.

She's never gotten a bad grade once in school.

She was valedictorian of her class this past year.

She is 18 and only a month younger than me.

She is kind to everyone and everything. Even if they aren't kind back.

She is a big time bookworm.

She is a musician and had actually been in several collage bands. She makes her own music and even has a YouTube channel of her original songs. Her YouTube name is SDsings.

I never knew she was so talented.

Her favorite sport to play is... wait till you hear this... Lacrosse! I mean seriously! Lacrosse!!! That's incredible!

I love her ten times more now. I never thought that possible.

Now I know she NEEDS to be mine!

We walked out of the pizzeria laughing. I pulled Savannah a bit away from Reed and Sam.

"Savannah? Can I ask you something?" I whispered.
"Yeah anything!" She cheered.
I looked her straight in the eyes and smiled. She smiled back. I pulled her in for a hug and laughed. "W... why are you laughing?" She giggled. "I want you to be my girlfriend..." I blurted out. I pulled away from her hurriedly and clasped my hand over my mouth, surprised by my own words. The smile on her face slowly drifted away.

Oh no! I ruined everything!

I ruined my own life...

What will I do now?
