Hazel's POV:

~ Time Jump - December ~

"Wake up sweetheart." I heard Alan say. "Just five more minutes." I groaned. Harvey gave me extended time off for the work I did for his wedding, which I was grateful for. December is probably the busiest time at work. "Come on, get up." He said as he cuddled and nudged me, which made me wanna stay in bed longer. He and I went to his house by the lake. Bella and Kevin we're staying at their Grandparents place for the Christmas holiday. I was happy that they decided to come back here, especially at this time of year. Everything looked so beautiful covered in white snow, and the iced over lake was lovely as well. "I'll throw a bucket of water on you." He said. "Fine, fine. I'm getting up." I said with a slight laugh. "Good. I'll be downstairs." He said before he kissed me. I took a nice hot bath and got ready. I put on some sweat pants and one of Alan's sweatshirts. I went downstairs and we ate breakfast; I hadn't realized how hungry I was until then. "I've been working on something, and I just finished it this morning. I want you to read it." He said as we walked into his office/writing room. "I figured you were writing a new book." I said with a smile. "I still need my editor and publisher to read through it, but I want you to read it first." He said as he handed me a thick stack of papers. "Thanks, I'd love to be the first to read it." I said with a smile. "I'm gonna go meet with my publisher and discuss some things. I hope you don't mind me leaving you here." He said with something in his eyes I couldn't quite read. "No, it fine. I'd rather curl up a cup of hot chocolate and read this." I said with a smile. "Good. I'll see you later sweetheart." He said before he kissed me. He left and I made myself some hot chocolate before I went into the living room. I opened the manuscript and began to read. The binging chapter was about a character Jeremy Alan who can't get over his divorce. I figured that he was writing about himself and the day he met me; I wasn't wrong about that at all. I just couldn't put the manuscript down! I ended up crying several times as well. It was so beautifully written, and it showed me how he was feeling when we met. "Hazel, are you alright? Why are you crying?" Alan asked as he walked into the room. "Oh Alan." I said as I wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug as I cried. He rubbed my back gently, even though my tears were tears of joy. "Did you really feel all those things when we met, and when we were getting to know each other?" I asked after I calmed down a little. "Of course I did. You took my pain away, and you made me feel again. You mean the world to me, and you always will." He said sweetly. "You mean the world to me too. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you." I said as I hugged him again. Everything was great, and I loved my life more than I ever had before.

~ Time Jump - Two Years Later ~

"Alright, everyone sit down." Alan said to us. Bella and Kevin came over to hear how well Alan's book was selling. Bella is absolutely the biggest fangirl and shipper of Alan and I after she read Alan's book, called The Lake House. "So, what are the stats?" Kevin asked curiously. "My book is the best seller." He said. "If it wasn't then something is definitely wrong with the world." Bella said happily. "There's some other news Alan and I want to tell you both." I said, and a warm smile spread across Alan's face. "What is it?" Bella and Kevin asked at the same time. You could cut their excitement with a knife, I think. "We're getting married this November." I said with a smile. "Oh my gosh! That's only three months away!!! We gotta start planning!" Bella said wildly. I think she was more excited than I was. "And...." I said. Bell's mouth flew open, and I knew she knew what we we're going to say. "We're pregnant." Alan said as he pulled me into a sweet hug. "Oh my gosh I'm so happy for you guys!" Bella gushed as tears of joy formed in her eyes. "I'm happy for you guys too." Kevin said with a big smile on his face. "Have you two decided on a name yet?" Kevin asked curiously. "No, but we can figure that out when she gets further along." Alan said with a sweet smile as he placed his big hand on my belly. I totally wasn't showing, but Alan still insists on doing it, which I think is so sweet and cute. We started making dinner, and all could think about was how lucky I am to have great friends, a great job, and perfect boyfriend. I can only say the last words to Alan's book.

"I have to thank that old Lake House for giving me the love of my life."
