"look at him" and "what's wrong with him?" were tossed around in the hallway, everyone pointing to a certain boy.
why are they taunting this poor boy? josh thought. that boy is perfect and beautiful, i would love to kiss him an- no, you have a girlfriend, remember?
josh sighed, walking to class.

josh decided to sit somewhere else at lunch. he wanted to learn more about this quiet boy and his beautiful mind, thoughts.
but maybe they aren't beautiful, maybe they are ugly, deadly.
josh sat across from him, startling him as sat his tray down.
"hello" josh said, but he didn't get a response. is he okay?
"um, how are you?" he tried, but he just stared.
tyler wanted to speak, he truly did, but the voices in his head would eat him away if he did.
"what's your name?" that's when the boy lit up, grabbing a small price of paper and a pencil that was sharpened too small, and writing something down.
he slid it to josh, as it read
tyler
it was a sloppy-neat hand writing. one where it was both at the same time.
"why don't you speak?" josh asked the small boy.
he thought for a minute, before writing down
i'm mute.
