Most hood movies and books start off with a poor girl who lived live poor and meets a king pin live happily ever after. My story is more complex in the words of Boosie " You don't know my struggle so, you can't feel my hustle you don't know what I done been through".
Most people are wondering how a innocent girl became so ruthless but life is not to be played with growing up I was spoiled, by my mother and father before he went to prison. I was always a good girl who maintained good grades faithfully. It was a regular day like any other we were out having Sunday brunch with my mother and our closest relatives which consisted of my uncle Tim, his wife Whitney, and my brothers and sister.
My oldest brother is 23, his name is Kymani Jones. I resemble him a lot.. He is brown skinned, shoulder length dreads, and very fine if he wasn't my brother I a be on that. He is also Detroit King pin.
My youngest brother is 16 year old Kamari Jones. He is light skinned and has a brush cut. But also handsome. He attends a school on the Southside of Detroit, Central High School. He is a 10th grader and the star point guard on the basketball team..
My younger sister is 9 year old Cynthia Jones. She is a 3rd grader at the local Elementary school. She is adorable but very bad. She gets on my nerve. But, I love her dearly.
We were all eating, having conversations as normal when my mom stood up in said I have news for everyone. " Everyone knows I am a devoted rapper who wants to become famous. I have had the oppurtunity to be picked to go on tour with lil Wayne. So, in order for me to do that I have to send the kids to Miami to live with my mother." she stated but the last part kind of low where you barely could hear her.
" WTF you mean you sending us to Miami how the fuck you expect us to go way down there we don't know anyone there but grandma. You expect us to pack our life up and leave the only place we ever knew. I don't know how Unique, Kamari and Cynthia feel but fuck that. I ain't going I got a life up here and you not just gone strip it away for that fake ass dream you have that a never amount to shit" Kymani yelled.
We all were surprised we never heard him talk to mom like that but in the strangest and the selfish way I agree. My mother on the other end was stuck for words all she said was " Like it or not you going" and she walked off.
On this day is when I realized I was going to a new state, city, and home leaving all my friends, memories, and everything else behind. What was I going to do I know shit about Florida besides my grandma lived in the roughest part. I thought life in the "D" was real but they stay on the tv show " First 48".
As, we loaded up the truck to departure I overheard my brother on the phone with his childhood friend Damian but everyone knows him by "D".
I listenened and heard my brother say " Mane, my mama tripping trying to make me and my brother and sisters pack our shit up and go all the way to Miami. I dont know shit about that city except its known for having big ballers, I dont wanna leave them and not go but everything I have here has to be settled and dealt with.. df im going to do? shit crazy"
At that very moment i realized i was in this world alone.
