Chapter 1 ~ School

*Melissa pov*

I am Melissa, I'm just any normal high school girl. I live in a small town with a few close friends. I have a huge crush on this beautiful boy named Eli. He is tall, with bushy dirty blonde hair, and green eyes. Sometimes he wears glasses, but usually not. They look so cute on him. Unfortunately I don't think he notices me. My best friends name is Amelia, she's really awesome friend, she helps me through everything. I am so lucky to have her. We have been best friends since 5th grade. We never leave each others side. It's time for 6th period. Science. I don't particularly love science, but we just got new seating arrangements, and I sit net to Amelia. and even better, Eli sits right in front of me. I am a chicken when it comes down to talking to him. I don't really know why, I just think it would be weird. Amelia is always just telling me to say hi to him, but what if he thinks i'm a total creep and then never wants to talk to me. Like you never know. We sit down in science and I stare at Eli. It might just be the back of his head, but it is still amazing. "Melissa! Come on just say like, hey whats up Eli." Amelia tells me.

" Nooooo but like what if he think i'm totally weird and everything would go down hill and he would hate me forever and ahhhh." Amelia glares at me.

"He wouldn't think you were weird for just saying hi."

"But but like you never know."

"Alright Melissa, watch this."

"Hey whats up Eli." Amelia says to Eli.

"Sup Amelia." Eli says back to Amelia

Just then the bell rings and everyone rushes to their seats."See, its not that hard Melisa, and he doesn't think i'm a complete weirdo either."

"Yea but-" I get cut off by the teacher yelling loudly "Alright class!! Today we will be starting frog dissection!" The whole class quietly says "noooo."

"Haha just kidding! We are doing that next week though... Turn your textbooks to page 147"

We turn to the page and start reading. Eli is chosen to read first. His voice is like an angel, I could listen to it for days. Then my name was called, oh my god I was totally spacing out! I have no idea where we are! Am I even on the right page!? Amelia points to the place we are at the page and I start reading. Wow that was embarrassing, i'm glad Amelia saved me there.

*Amelia pov*

We sit down and get ready for science. I try to get Melissa to talk to Eli, but she sill wont do it. He will never like her is she never talks to him. I say hello to Eli to show Melissa how easy it is, but she still wont do it for some reason. Then of course she was spacing out and wasn't paying attention, and it was her turn to read, this girl is so funny. I point to where we are at and she starts reading, gosh her face looks like a bright red tomato.

*Melissa pov*

The final bell rings and its time to go to the bus. Amelia and I walk out of the class and to our lockers. We put all of our stuff in our backpacks and start heading for the bus. We see the bus arrive and we start running. If we don't get on first then we wont get a seat. We finally get to the bus in time, we push in front of everyone and get on first, we sit down in the back. I like sitting in the middle, but Amelia's crush sits in the back, so we always haave to sit back there. I sit on the right side of the bus, so I can look out by the school to see if Eli is there. Sometimes he hangs out there talking to his friends, but usually hes not there because of soccer practice. Amelia sits on the left side and asks me to sit by her, "Come on Melissa sit over here, he isnt there today."

"But you never know!"

"Look outside Melissa, do you see him? He is not there! Come over here!"

"But but-" just then the bus starts moving, Amelia gives me a glare and goes back to talking to her crush. At the next stop Amelia comes and sits by me, she pulls out her lunch and opens some trail mix. Then this rude kid named Wade takes her lunch right out of her hands. "You asshole give it back!"

"Make me" He taunts

"I will" Amelia jumps over to the other seat and punches him in the throat, that's my Amelia. She takes her lunch box back and proceeds to eat her trailmix. After about 20 minuets its her stop, she gets off and waves goodbye to me, I wave back. Her stop is right by a beach, and her house is a little bit up the road. While I am waving back to her, I see someone walking on the beach, its Eli!! Wait why is he here?! I though he lived in town?! Calm down, he is probably just visiting the beach or something, but on a school day?
