Chapter 34

Ashton's POV
"Hey guys huge fire on fifth and main get there now." I hear Cisco say through my earpiece as I soar through the sky. "Oh God, guys Cisco wasn't lying this fire is huge." I said looking at the huge skyscraper that was up in flames. "I'm going to need help getting in." I said. Landing in an alley way next to the flaming building. "On it." I heard Barry say and the next thing I know I'm in the middle of the building. I start slowing the fire down so that Taylor and Barry can get inside the rooms to bring everyone to safety. "Hey Barry the ceiling's starting to fall be careful." I warned him. "Thanks for the warning." I heard Barry say through the earpiece. "Hey, there's a door behind there Ashton I need your help." I heard Taylor say. "I'm on it." I said running over to where Taylor was. I froze the fire and Taylor tries the door. Locked. Then I see her phase through it. "Empty." She says phasing back through. Then I look over right at the moment I see Barry running out of a room and at that moment the ceiling snapped sending a huge pillar collapsing onto Barry. "BARRY!!!" Taylor and I scream in sync. We run over to the pillar where his arm was sticking out. "OMG Barry please still be alive." I prayed. I blow the fire out and Taylor and I try to get the pillar off. It was to heavy. Taylor gets an idea and runs down to the street and gets firefighters. "We need your help our brother is trapped under this." Taylor said vibrating her voice. The firefighters help us move the pillar and Taylor speeds them back down to the ground. "Barry." I said removing his mask to see cuts all over his face. I started to cry. All I can think was this was my fault I was to focused on Taylor when I should have at least made sure Barry was ok. Just thinking that this was my fault made me cry harder. That's when I realized Cisco screaming into my ear asking me what happened. "Ba..Ba.Barry he's hurt...really bad." That's all I could say. Taylor and I lift him up onto our shoulders and carried him down to the ground were we met Cisco and Caitlin in a S.T.A.R Labs van. We got to S.T.A.R Labs and watched as Caitlin and Cisco rush Barry into a medical bed and hook him up to many different machines. I sat down on one of the beds and laid down I didn't want to sleep but eventually sleep came over me.
---Next day---
"Barry." I say as I wake up with a start still in the same bed at S.T.A.R Labs. I look over to see Taylor was already up and was sitting next to Barry who was laying lifeless on a bed. I sit down next to her. We don't say anything. We sat there in silence for a while until she finally says, "It's my fault." I look ove to her, "It's not your fault it's mine."

Taylor's P.O.V
"Ashton it's not your fault, you were helping me and I didn't go to help Barry." I explained. "What?" Ashton asked. "I thought I could save everyone and then help Barry, but I wasn't fast enough." I said bringing tears to my eyes. Ashton and I hugged each other deciding that it was both of our faults. If Barry was awake right now he'd be telling us to shut up that none of this is anyone's fault. But today we blamed it on ourselves. "I need more training. If I wasn't fast enough to save Barry I won't be fast enough for bigger things." I say speeding over to the cosmic treadmill. I heard Ashton call me but I ignored her and started running. I tried and tried to go faster. Then everything started spinning. My legs were going faster than ever. Then I crashed. "UGH!" I screamed. "Wow, that was the fastest you've ever gone!" Cisco said helping me up. "Yea, but everything was spinning when I was at that speed." I said. "We just have to find out why and fix it." Cisco said smiling. "Why are you all calm with not knowing if Barry will survive?" I asked. "I know he will. Barry's strong. He has the fast healing. Something this big, a normal person would be dead but Barry is just passed out and soon will be awake in no time." Cisco explained. "Really?" I asked. "Yea, you have it to!" Cisco exclaimed. "True." I said. "Now let's figure out that speed thing of yours."

But here's a new chapter for you guys! Hope you enjoy reading it as I'm sad to say this story is coming to end but I'm also glad to say we're officially writing Book 2!
