Paul's Pov
Water engulfed my body as my back hit the elevator. I swam to the surface and caught my breath. "PAUL! PAUL YOU ALRIGHT?"

"YEAH. I'M FINE."

"YOU SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME!"

"YOU'RE NOT THE ONE THAT FELL!" I yell.

"STAY THERE IM COMI-"

"NO!" I yelled, "No stay there! I'll come to you."

"OKAY, JUST DON'T DO ANYTHING STUPID!"

I'll try.

I took a deep breath and sunk into the water.

I swam and swam. The building was full of shit. Decapitated bodies that literally almost made me die. Dusty water. I came up for air and found a passage way, dark and foggy and quiet.

I assume its spurs so I put on my mask and walk on.

Its still quiet but then I hear squealing and the water rippling.

You know what's worse than dead bodies in the water you're swimming in? Fucking rats.

I'll kill some infected but I don't fuck with rats.

They were all running in the same direction, the direction I needed to go.

What were they running from?

While I was walking, I was pressing my shirt and curling it up to squeeze out the water. There was a red cord that ran along the floor.

I followed it and it lead to a door that had a red light on the top of it. I tried the knob but it wouldn't budge.

Then I noticed it needed a key card.

A sigh crept through my teeth. There was a door open. I walked to it and it was a room with a desk and a locker. There was a card, some bullets and a health box.

I grabbed everything and tried the key card on the door. Still didn't work.

Then I followed the red cord again, it led me down to the basement. Since the floor was pushed in, I was just able to walk down without any steps. The basement was dark. I'm pretty sure if I'm not careful, I'll find some visitors to try to give me greetings. There was a light that illuminated a generator. That's where I can turn on the power, making that door able to work.

I carried my feet over to the generator and examined it.

There was a handle connected to a wire that was in the generator that I guess I was supposed to pull. So I gripped it in my hand and pulled upwards. I did it multiple tomes and it roared to life. The building rumbled and shrieked so loud that I can't stay for long. The water splashed and rancid panting came about as I was running up the busted in floor.

I ran through the doorway and was smacked in the face by an infected. The infected wrapped its hands around my neck and held me up against the wall. It smacked me and bit at me but I held it away. I pushed it away and pulled out my gun. I shot it twice and it fell down dead.

I have to keep moving.

I ran through the hall, following the red cord and found the door. My heart was pounding against my chest as I slid the card through the door lock. I opened it and went through.

The door locked automatically when it shut. I took a breath and stood still.

I was safe.

For now.

I went up a metal staircase and went through another door. The door led to a storage room that was connected to a kitchen with pots hanging from the ceiling and knives put up.

I ducked down just in case and I was glad I did.

A gun shot. Then another. A man falls to the ground dead. "I got it!" a man shouted. "Now, let's check the area for anyone else."

Oh shit.

I grab a bottle from my bag and throw it.

I was climbing up the ladder when a person came out of nowhere and kicked my jaw.

I flew backwards into the puddle of water. He dropped down, chocking me and pushing my head in the water.

I got him to stumble backwards but all I got to do was turn around. I turned over and he pushed me down from my back. My head was bashing against the floor and I could feel myself getting ready to let my mouth open. I reached for my gun again, and he grabbed my arm.

I shake it off and try again. I touch the butt of the gun and it moved slightly away from my finger tips.

I won't make it out of this alive.

Then the guns disappears and there's a gunshot.

Then man falls backwards and I come up, gasping for air. I take in my surroundings and see Miles holding a gone, smoking seeping through the muzzle hole.

"Whoa." Miles said, "I shot the hell out of that guy."

I looked at him and then back to the guy. His head was spilling out blood into the water.

"I feel like I'm going to be sick."

He held to his knees, panting. "Why didn't you just hang back like I told you to?"

"Well you're glad I didn't, right?" He looked at me.

"I'm glad I didn't get my head blown off by some goddamn kid."

"You know what? No." he said, "How about 'hey Miles, I know it wasn't easy but it was either him or me. Thanks for saving my asshole.'"

I stood up. "Got anything like that for me?"

"We gotta get going." Was all I said.
