"Celestial Heartbeats"
Chapter 2: Who do you Think you Are?!

The smell of freshly baked bread woke me from my not-so good slumber, and I didn't have to force myself up. Apparently, this has become a routine for me. The next thing on my mental list was to head to the bathroom and stare groggily at the mirror.
"Good morning," I said in a cracked voice.
I didn't expect a reply. Instead, a girl with silver locks reaching to her back, still messy from sleep, and hooded aquamarine eyes stared back at me with a blank expression.
"Yazune!" Came a voice downstairs, "Are you up?"
"Just a minute!" I forced myself to reply and hurriedly fixed myself. My usual attire consisted of a grey shirt under a long black hoodie that reaches past my waist, and even past my hands, black leggings and boots.
"It's another new day, Yazune Moonevia," I beamed a small smile at my reflection and dashed downstairs.
There, I saw my not blood-related grandmother making her famous bread already. I sat down on the table and let her place a tray of biscuit infront of me. Usually, I would help her bake, but she had told me not to because she feels better that way. It was odd, but so was she. So I let her be.
"Are there any orders this morning?", I asked as I started eating.
"Oh you know there would be," Grandmother said as she smiled at me. Her hazelnut hair was tied in a messy bun, and her emerald-tinted eyes smile with her mouth.
"I'll bring them over then,"
Honestly, I would still be out in the streets wallowing like a child if it weren't for her kindness. You see, my parents abandoned me when I was 8, and I lived for 3 more years by scavenging a nearby alley and pickpocketing passersby. When I couldn't bring myself to continue, Grandmother found me, offered me the same tray of biscuits and told me, "Why not stay here for a while? It's nice having some company, you know,"
Ever since then, I stayed with her in her quaint little bakery, being her delivery girl and assistant chef in the place. Often times, I would go out and work on other jobs too like a cashier or a waitress to earn money and help her buy ingredients for her pastry.
"Oh, also," She started as she placed the next tray carefully on the counter and faced me with another smile, "The guards came,"
I snorted in disbelief, "Isn't the rent still due next week?"
"No, sweetie." She handed a small envelope to me and winked, "I think they came for you,"
I looked a her with a puzzled look before glancing at the letter on the table. Indeed, my name was written there in elegant writings and a seal of the Sol Kingdom adorned the front.
"Oh don't tell me..." I hissed.
"You know about it?"
"My friend received one of these," I explained as I practically ripped it open, "She didn't like the outcome of accepting such invites,"
"I think they picked quite a gem,"
"Grandma..." I rolled my eyes and read the contents. My eyes slowly widened with each passing word and I let out a groan, "This is a waste of time,"
"But they chose you out of all the ladies here," Grandma chuckled playfully and I couldn't help but smile.
"Still, I don't wanna go," I folded the paper and shoved it in my pocket before collecting the bags of biscuits by the table, "Anyways, I'll be going then,"
"Be careful!" I hear her say when I got out into the streets.
The Kingdom of Lune was not as pretty as the Sol, according to the newspaper. We people here lived in constant problems and scarcity of resources, and as such, had a one-man-for-himself policy, unless stated otherwise in oneself. I cared for Grandma and I, so I work for us both. The streets were lined with vendors selling 'pirated' items from the Sun Kingdom and some kids in rags played amongst the crowd. I knew immediately that it wasn't just plain playing, and that an act of stealing was already being done on oblivious people. Of course, I used to be one of them too.
"Here's your order," I said to the guy in the fish stall as he gave me a welcoming smile. I collected the payment from him, waved and stalked off to my next costumer.
There were about 8 orders this morning and nothing more, so I ended up assisting this old lady in selling fruits and she gave me a quarter of what we earned.
My day went on with more part-time jobs than usual, but I noticed how few my earned cash was. I'm not much of a spender because I honesly don't know what to the spend money on, but I know the value of money for other people. Dusk slowly approached and the 3 crescent moons showed themselves on the beautifuly shaded sky.
I stood in the church on the mountaintop's bell tower with my hands in my pockets when the cold air started to seep in. I hummed an unknown tune and glanced down at our small village. From up high, it seems that all those really complicated and problematic things became simplified and that everything seems much peaceful now. I love staying in high places such as this.
But then, something caught my eye. A bright red and orange tint on the main highway in the town. I squinted, and I could make out the outlines of people-soldiers- and a flag that bore a sun with 6 rays, the insignia of the Sol. Realization kicked in and I cursed as I ran down from the tower and back to town.
"Those bastards...!" I muttered under my breath, "The rent isn't due until next week and yet...!"
The moment I got into our frontyard, I saw the soldiers mouthing incoherent curses at Grandma. I quickly ran up to them and elbowed the nearest soldier, causing him to sidestep and glare.
"You brat!!" He hissed.
"Why are you here again?!" I questioned, giving them a strong glare.
"We're collecting the payment earlier since you didn't fully pay last month's!" The other soldier said.
"Well, it's not complete too, so come back next time!"
"What?! Why you...!"
I braced myself on the doorframe, feet planted apart and arms crossed, "Why would you need the money anyways?! You Sols are already damn rich!"
"That doesn't mean that you're not supposed to pay what you owe us!" The leader hollered and lifted me by the collar.
Grandma squeaked in fright, but I kept my glare fixed on the man. He scowled and raised me higher, "You Lunes are all nothing but scums,"
My mind didn't register what happened anymore, but I sure am proud when I kicked him where it hurts for males. I stood towering above him as his body shooked whilst crouched and pathetic.
"I couldn't care less about what you say about me," I hissed, grabbing his helmet and tilting it so he faces me, "But I will never forgive you if you talk about our Kingdom like that!" I slammed his head on the air and turned away.
"And who the hell do you think you are huh?!"
I spun around, anger beaming in my eyes, letter clutched tightly on my hand, "I'm your Sol's Prince's next fiance, got a problem with that?!"
Seriously. I really need to get myself under control. When I am mad, the I am REALLY mad and I could care less about the following consiquences as long as I get the right revenge on someone.
But this has got to be my stupidest move yet.
