Ava's POV

I opened my eyes this morning at 6:02 am, hearing my alarm go off and repeat the exact time. The lady's voice on my fancy black and red alarm clock was hell. She literally had nothing better to do than record herself repeating the time and installing it on an alarm clock.

The idea to get this was all my mom's. She claimed it would be great to not have to open my eyes to check the time. For some reason I just prefered getting up. Don't get me wrong, but I love sleep. It seems so valuable to me, because what's the point of spending time with your family when you have none. I only have a 24/7 drunk mother.

So it was february 18th, the day right after my birthday. I wasn't it the best mood ever even though I possibly had the best day of my life yesterday. School was not a place I wanted to be 5 days a week altough, when I get there, I realize how much better it is than staying at home with my mother and crying my heart out.

So these couple of weeks, I really didn't like school. My friends say it's because of the new hottie in the 11th grande named Jake.

Jake had dirty blonde curls, and perfect brown eyes. HIs glossy lips looked so delicate and  kissable. It's irresistable.

Last time I felt like this about a guy was in 9th grade. Whenever I get closer to Jake, my heart beats 90 times faster and my breathing gets rough. I'm always so nervous around guys, and completely get paralyzed when I talk to them so I have no chance with this guy. It's really not like I cared, because I had the 5 idiotic lads that made me feel special. (1d)

After a couple minutes of silent thoughts, I got up and brushed my teeth.

I undressed myself, and stepped into the shower and turned on the cold water. I shivered a little considering it was 12 degrees outside.

After soaking my natural long blonde hair, I applied my regular shampoo and conditioner. After washing out the conditioner, I picked up my towel and dried myself and stepped out.

I quickly grabbed my iphone from the bathrom counter and exited the bathroom.

It was freezing inside my room so I ran to my closet and picked out the first outfit I could find and put it on.

A white tanktop and a blue blazer over it. And ofcourse, the black skinny jeans that mom hates. Then I plugged in my hair dryer and ran strokes through my hair.

After I put on my chocolate colored boots, I ran downstairs, ignoring my mom talking on the phone with her boyfriend Blake. Blake didn't seem like a bad guy, but I think he is. After my mom started seeing Jake, our lives have turned upside down.

But to me Blake is cool, he likes kids and has a good choice in music.

Does he know my mom sometimes takes cocaine?

I sat down on one of the wooden chairs and finished my breakfast that was waiting on the table.

- At School-

I walked alone ignoring rude comments from Amy and her League. ( The sluts of the school)

" Does she not own a dress or something?"

" She's such a loser."

" What is her problem?"

Stop Ava. Don't Listen to them. Don't let it sink it.

I could just feel the tears at the corner of my eyes but I tried to stop them. Everyday Amy, Jess, And Cara were my problem. Everyone else were so sweet. Infact, too sweet.

 I hate attention. Period.

I walked over to my 1st period class and sat down, as usual at the back of the classroom and waited anxiously for my friends to arrive.

" Okay listen up guys, we're going to be reading silently for 30 minutes for your outside reading project." Mrs. Blackberry repeated for the third time.

I quickly glanced at Jake, just to see his perfect curly hair and brown eyes and then looked away.

I jgrabbed my book from my bag and started on chapter 4. I was reading Little Women, possibly the most boring book in the entire world.

I came to the part when the March sisters were celebrating christmas joyfully when Pamela poke me from behind. I turned around to face her when I saw that cheeky grin she had on her face.

Something else that I noticed was that she had a note in her hand. Ofcourse. Pamela was unbelieveably gorgeous and boys were all over her.

The best part about Pamela was that she didn't let any fame change her. She cared about everyone. She's very paternalistic.

" Who's the note from?" I asked.

She took a breath before answering me.

" Jake."

JAKE? WHAT? FUCK! THAT CANNOT BE! JAKE LIKES PAMELA?

HE CANNOT LIKE HER, HE'S ALL MINE. I REFUSE TO SHARE!

I didn't want to be a bad friend so I told Pamela I was happy for her and she looked confused.

" Oh you silly goose!"

" The note's for you!"

ME! THE NOTES FOR ME! jAKE LIKES ME? OMG IS THIS A DREAM? FIRST MY BIRTHDAY AND NOW THIS?!

I completely zoned out for a second and eagerly grabbed my " love" letter and started reading.

Dear Ava,

I'm Jake. I've seen you around but I was too nervous to talk to you. I wanted to see if you wanted to hang out or something. By the way, prom is next friday, we could go together?

--Jake

I sank into my seat not even daring to look his way. This was a miracle! It had to be. How will I ever say yes to him?

I closed my eyes, and started day dreaming about Jake and I.
