"Damn it!" My stomach pains woke me up. "Stupid antibiotics." I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and made my way to the curtains. The dense rays of sunlight temporarily blinded me as I flung the window open. I fixed my eyes on the neighbours window. Suddenly, the memories of last night came flooding back. My head began to spin furiously as I breathed in the warm air around me. Jeff the Killer was on my deck earlier this morning. And then he had the nerve to come back a few hours later to 'apologize' and be my friend. I grabbed my cellphone and began dialling my bestfriend's number. "Hello?" "Alice," I breathed, "I'm coming over."

"Jeff the Killer?!"  I stared up at the immaculate white ceiling as my bestfriend screamed His name for the millionth time. "I thought he was just a fanfiction character you were obsessed with?" I sat up, feeling the full wrath of my migraine and sighed. "Yeah." Her back was to me, all I could see was her multicoloured hair. "Look, Alice." I winced as my fingers brushed over the bruise forming on my right temple. Alice turned to face me as she pulled at the blood red tips of her hair. I grimaced at the reminder of Jeff's bloody scent. "I'll come over later tonight. Stay alive okay?"

Alice hugged me as she entered the house. The smell of romantic spark mixed with love story began to fill the second floor of my house. My Family was finally back, but they were fast aleep upstairs. My friend sat on the couch as she tapped her dark purple nails against her chin. She had brought her Sabrina the Teenage Witch DVDs along. She always did when she slept over. Jumping on the couch beside her, Jeff came to mind. What was he doing right now? My hand had found it's own way to the cheek Jeff had kissed. I couldn't remember much from when he came back. My head was still hurting from being knocked out. From the corner of my eye, I secretly kept a look out for any movement nextdoor. I couldn't believe Jeff the Killer was my neighbour! Alice was too occupied with Pinterest to notice Harvey and Sabrina taking off on his motorbike.

I logged into Tumblr on my phone. "Go to sleep Jennifer." I've had an unhealthy obsession with Jeff for just over a year now. Alice was studying to be a Plunket Nurse, while I was spending my gap year reading Jeff the Killer fanfics. I had really taken a liking to his character. He was mysterious and knew how to handle a knife; two things I wish I had. The fire within my chest ignited as I thought about killing victims of my own.

The screen of my phone made no sound as I typed my reply and then erased it over and over again. I decided not to reply. Strands of hair were strewn across Alice's face as she slept.

Yawning, my eyes began to feel heavy before I succumbed to the darkness around me. I needed to sleep anyway, seeing as it was our friends' big Halloween party tomorrow.
