I sighed as I ran a couple fingers through my long silver hair as I stared at myself in the school bathroom mirrors. Keep calm now, Aimi. Today had been my first day of school in Karasuno. I had transferred from London in the middle of the year after my Uncle had grown ill so me and my mother had moved up to stay with my grieving Auntie, which meant I was also living in the same town as my cousins - who I hadn't seen in years. At least my older cousin Koushi was in the same high school as me - Karasuno. My first day had been brutal - I was stumbling with my Japanese horrifically. It was my mother tongue as I had been given a scholarship to a music high school in London but my family was more important and I knew going back to my home town was more important. Though it was awful so far, the blank expression I gave people when they spoke to fast was making no one want to talk to me. I'd been talking nothing but English for a few years now.
My mother had told me right after school I should go see Koushi at Volley ball practice. I nodded at my reflection as I headed out of the bathrooms and across the school - briefly pausing to find the words to ask where the Gymnasium was. As I approached it I could hear the faint squeak of shoes and the thud of Volleyballs being hit. I smiled slightly knowing that Koushi was still playing - last time we saw each other was his End Of Year game at Elementary and now I was in my first year of High school and he was still playing. I'd always looked up to him growing up, even if we were only a couple years apart in age. I pushed the gym door and it clanked open loudly, making everyone on the team stop what they were doing and look - I felt my face flush at the sudden attention."Hi, can I help you?" A voice said, walking towards me. I craned my neck up to see a very tall man with brown hair pulled into a pony tail.
"I'm, uh, I'm looking for my cousi-" I started
"Aimi!" came a yell and I looked around him to see Koushi jogging over, grinning and waving. I giggled as he grabbed me into a hug, my feet leaving the ground slightly as he did. I was pretty short. Like ridiculously so. I'm talking I was only just brushing 150 centimetres and barely even 90 pounds.
"As short as ever" he smiled and I punched him playfully on the arm
"Shut it, Koushi!" I chuckled, pushing my hands into my pockets as another guy walked over, this one having short brown hair. Koushi turned and smiled at him "Aimi, this is Daichi Sawamura, team Captain"
"Hi" I bowed slightly "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt your training"
"Nonsense" he smiled "we were just having a break, it's nice to meet you"
"You too, Koushi's told me great things" I smiled, making my older cousin blush and groan and I smirked.
"Come meet the team" Koushi said, giving me a nudge and I followed them to where the team where now drinking water and talking amongst themselves. I felt a little nervous at about to be the attention of about 10 guys at once. As we walked over I crossed my arms over my chest as they all looked up, their attention obviously finding their way to me.
