"Mimi!" Being short, I was forced to stand on tiptoe while looking for my friend in a sea of people. The cafeteria was usually crowded at this time, and I always felt nervous in crowds.
"Mimi!" I called out again, a little louder this time, due to my nervousness. A small hand grabbed my own.
"Meow?"
"Mimi! Oh god, I thought I'd lost you!" I hugged the smaller girl. Mimi was my (rather adorable) roommate, and we'd grown closer as the year progressed.
"Meow..where's Ella?" I ruffled her hair and replied, "Probably in the flob. Why?" Mimi purred. "We're working together on the English project, remember?" "Oh...right."
We squeezed through the crowd to get to the exit. When we were finally outside, I breathed in deeply. "Ah, fresh air~" Mimi just meowed in approval, clearly happy to get out of the cramped building.
"Hey, Maria." A male voice softly called.
