First Day of School pt. 2

When I walked in the smell of brand new school supplies filled my nose. The feeling of heat brushed over my body as I walked farther in. Miles led me to the office and told me other things about the school. I picked up my schedule and walked to my locker to see a smiling Miles next to it.
"I guess we are locker neighbors." Mile said.
"Yay!" I excitedly exclaimed. "What is your classes?" I asked passing him my schedule.
"Looks like we have the same classes."He replied looking over my schedule.
"Then we can be study buddies." I replied.
Both of us walked to our first class. Many kids were in the classroom. Some were sitting on desks while others we stand or sitting on a desk talking and catching up to what drama they may have missed over the summer. Miles walked to the back of the room and slipped into a seat. I sat at the desk right next to him. As I did the teacher walked into the classroom. Everyone jumped into there seats and did not say a single word. I looked at Miles with a questioning face. He scribbled something into his notebook and held it at a angle so I could see.
"Don't mess with the teacher. She is very strict." The notebook read in sloppy handwriting. I shook my head lightly telling him I understood.
After our next two classes we had lunch. When the school day ended we were so happy. The first day was always a little tuff. Me and Miles figured we could hang out after school and get to know each other a little better.
"Hey Miles, did you see that?" I asked as our bus ride past the tree I noticed on the ride to school that morning.
"See what?" Miles responded jumping down the stairs of the bus as we got off.
"Follow me." I demanded pulling him behind me. We marched up to the tree and looked up at the branch.
Miles noticed the branch and said "What is that?"
