14. The magic mirror

In the highest part of that house, a place where everyone forgotten and nobody would brother to ask what's in there, inside those dark tiny little room behind the closed door lies a lonely world of emptiness, there sit a boy his white hair and small body that makes him look so fragile looking at the small window.

He look at the warfare that's happening outside everyone is fighting and shouting, red everything is red because of blood or fire, there's no longer things called 'welfare' in this world but still everyday the boy wishing for a happiness.

Until that fateful day, one day the boy as always looking at the outside world from a tiny window, the dusty old mirror behind the boy is shining, surprised the boy tried to crawl to the mirror, to see another person reflected in the mirror.

"Good evening" The raven hair that reflected in the mirror smiled, still surprise the boy just keep quiet and look down, it was the first time someone talk to him after a long time, still smiling the raven hair introduced himself "I'm soraru, a magican, whises is my specialty."

Soraru looking at the boy from the other side of mirror that still look down didn't say anything, he decide to talk to the boy again "may i know your name?" the boy stratled and finally look up mumbling in a small voice with a red blush in his face "Mafumafu.."

Mafu didn't know how to react, it was his first time see someone smiled at him, "well, i'll just called you mafu okay?" "Y-yes.." mafu feel awkward it also his first time someone called his name.

Ever since that time, everyday both of them would talk from morning until dawn, at first it just soraru telling his story but lately mafu start to open himself too, "Mafu, do you have anything you want right now?" mafu that was leaning in the mirror look up.

There's a little silence, then mafu look at soraru in the eyes and said in small voice "T-then, would it be okay if i called you my first friend?" soraru that didn't expect that answer as soraru just look at mafu dumbfounded.

"I-i'm sorry..i didn't mean to be rude.." mafu trails off as he wish he didn't offend soraru, "Eh? No it's okay let's be friend" soraru quickly said, looking up mafu hesitanly reach out his hand to touch the mirror.

Soraru reach out the mirror too, when both their hand in the mirror mafu ask with a small voice, "will you please say my name?" smiled soraru say with a gentle voice "Yes, Mafu" suddenly the thin glasses that border both of them is gone.

For the first time mafu feel a warm hand holding his hand, not his own warm but another person warm, overflowing with happiness mafu couldn't stop the tears from falling, he was wishing for this everyday, alone in this dark room, he wish he can meet someone else.

Today too as usual when mafu wake up he would see soraru already sitting in front the mirror smiling at mafu, but today is a little different, usually soraru would standing while leaning in the mirror but today he was sitting in the floor while leaning.

ignoring the negative thinking, mafu called to soraru "Good morning soraru-san" looking at the mirror soraru smile "Morning mafu" when mafu tried to crawl to the mirror soraru stop him, "Mafu, why not you tried to walk?"

"E-eh..but i can't wal-" before mafu finish talking soraru continue "Mafu did you forget that i was a magican? just try to walking, it's okay." soraru smiled to reassure mafu, hesitate mafu tried to stand up and walking, ".....? s-soraru-san i, i can w-walk..!"
