The first thought I had the next morning was,
It's Saturday. My room was still dark, from the sheets that canceled the light. The Christmas lights glowed.I thought about what I should do today.
I think I'll hangout with Jamie.
I've been hanging out with him so much though...OH WELL.
I decided to text him.
Hey.
Hey :)
Do you...want to hangout today..?
I'm down. I'll come pick you up.
Pick me up.? Do you have a car?
Yeah??? You didn't know?
No??? Wait, does that mean that you've been walking me home, then walking back to the school, then driving home????
Uhh. yeeah.
OMG WHAT THE HELL.
you suck.
I laughed, and got up to get ready.
Awhile after that, he texted me that he was on his way, and I waited on the steps of my house for him to come.He pulled up in a silver sonata. It was well cleaned, and it looks to be about couple years old. I got in, and he pulled away from the curb.
"So...what do you wanna do?" He asked me.
"I don't know...what about you?" I said. I honestly don't care what I do as long as I'm with you, I thought.
"We can do whatever. I'm fine with anything."
"So if you're fine with anything, will you choose where we go???" I asked.
"Hmm no, you choose." He smiled at me.
I give up. I look out the window, and it hits me.
"I have an idea." I say, grinning hard.
We ended up at the animal shelter. He and I volunteered, and took dogs on walks. Jamie walked a variety of different dogs. One of the dogs almost dragged him.
I watched him with the dogs, and he was so gentle with them. He obviously loved animals. There's so much more to him then I thought.
After that, it was back to the drawing board. I had no idea what to do next. We ended up at the park.
I walked with him up the hill and we started talking.
"So...I remember you telling me about how you came here to blow off steam..what did you mean by that?" I asked, trying not to seem nosy.
He paused for a moment. "I came here when my parents would fight. They would have nasty fights all the time. Screaming matches. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I came here."
I didn't have the slightest clue. He seems like he lives the perfect life. That was wrong of me.
"Oh...did it ever get better.?"He paused again. "My parents got divorced when I was in 8th grade. My dad sees me whenever he can, but he's usually busy. I live with my mother. It took awhile for things to get better but I pulled through."
"Jamie...I'm so sorry, I didn't know.."
He just shook his head. "It's not your fault. Don't be sad. You make me happy, you're all I need now."
I blush, because he's too sweet. Just then, I had another thought.
I weighed the risks, and then just overall decided to just say screw it."Do you wanna...meet my parents.?" I asked.
He looks at me sorta wide eyed. I can tell he wasn't expecting that at all. "Sure I guess."
Soon we were on our way to my house. I made him wait outside so I could talk to my parents."MOM, DAD, I HAVE TO TALK TO YOU." I say.
After explaining things, my dad wasn't the happiest.
"He's here?!?!"
"Yes, and I want you to meet him. Please daddy?" I ask in that pleading tone that he can't even say no to. He just rolls his eyes and sighed.I let Jamie in, and introduced him to my parents. It was a little awkward.
My mom was so happy to meet him. My dad on the other hand....
"Hi, sir, I'm Jamie, me and your daughter go to school together." Jamie shakes my dads hand.
"Hi Jamie, I'm her dad, I have a rifle under my bed." He says shaking Jamie's hand and smiling. It wasn't even to be scary, it sounded so normal.I just facepalm.
DAMMIT DAD.
I took some time to show him my room. He looked very impressed by it. "Wow Candyce, it's amazing."
AWWW HE KNOWS THE WAY TO MY HEART.
I let him wander around my room as I sit on my bed. He gets to my CD collection and presses the 'play' button on the CD player.
Classical music starts playing, he doesn't know where the case for the CD is, so I know he just knows the song.
"Bach's suite number 2?" He asks.
"Yeah...I like all sorts of music. I was in the mood for classical last night." I say, a little embarrassed.
BUT DAMN HE'S ACTUALLY SORT OF A GENIUS.
He's honestly nothing like what I thought. He's smart..and funny, and beautiful.
Damn, I think I'm falling for him.He stayed for dinner that night, and it was perfect. He got along with my dad, and my mom thought he was so polite. This could be my life. He could be my life.
I walked him out to his car. I leaned against his car. He smiled, and touched my cheek. His hand was warm, and it was everything. He reached down and kissed my lips, our touch, was electric. My body radiated with warmness. I felt like it lasted a life time.
He looked into my eyes. His eyes, so perfect. He smiled and kissed me again. We kissed for a couple minutes.
He stopped and hugged me. He was so warm. He pulled me away to look at my face.
What he said next just made me fall for him even more.
"I love you."It all hit me. Shock struck my whole body, and it tingled. He loves me. He actually said it.
Without even thinking, it was like it was instinct. "I love you too." I say.
After a minute or so, he leaves, and I walk back inside and head to my room.
That whole night I thought about what he said.
"I love you."
I replayed it over and over in my head.
I'm not falling anymore.
I am.
I am in love with him.
I love you, Jamie.
