Hiding From My Alpha [On Hold]

Josie's pov

As soon as I reached the mall, i was suddenly hit by an aroma of baked goods, new clothes and a little bit of ummm.......sweat?

Eeww. Too many people for my liking

I quickly texted Janelle and asked her where exactly they were. The mall is huge, three storeys of pure money. She texted back and told me that they were on the second floor at a restaurant called "luce del sole" .

After too many hellos to random strangers I finally made it to second floor. Sometimes people are too nice.

I quickly found the restaurant and spotted Kacey sitting at one of the tables, i walked towards her and saw that Janelle was there too.

"Josie" Janelle squealed when she noticed me approaching. She got up and ran towards me crushing me with a hug.

"Woah kacey, i just turned eighteen and you want to kill me already." I barely had enough oxygen

"I'm just so happy to see you" she smiled at me.

"Hey Joe" Janelle said and gave me a hug.

I groaned "I told you not to call me that", I playfully shoved her with a frown on my face.

"I'm sorry Joey but that's just how life is" she said as she sat back down on the table.

"Oh come'on Janelle at least try and call her by her name today, its her birthday." Kacey tried to reason with Janelle.

I still don't know why Janelle doesn't like calling me by my real name. It's always Joe, Joey, J, and so much more but never Josie. Well I can't say never because she has called me by my real name but it sounded very awkward.

"Fine fine, only because its your birthday, Jo-sie" she stuttered at the end. Even though it doesn't look like much, it warmed my heart that she said my name.

"Now back to business" Kacey said and eyed Janelle, the table grew silent as they seemed to have started a silent conversation without me.

Kacey cleared her throat.. "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you" and shortly after that Janelle joined in and started singing. Then suddenly the whole restuarant was singing. It sounded like those powerful choirs that are on tv.

I couldn't help but cover my face with my hands because everyone's attention was directed at me. Once everyone was done singing, a series on happy chants and clapping echoed throughout the room.

"Thank you guys so much" Even though it was a bit overwhelming

"I can't believe your actually eighteen, you can do anything now" Janelle squealed.

"What is anything anyways," i asked smiling.

"Anything!!" Both Janelle and kacey screamed.

We all ordered milkshakes, i got the strawberry, Janelle went for chocolate and Kacey got a blue one.

"Hey Kacey what flavour is your milkshake, it looks like puke" I said to Kacey while trying to stop myself from laughing because it really did look like puke.

She looked at me with one of those "Really?" faces. "It's blueberry" she lifted her milkshake in the air "blueberry" she said with emphasis on the berry.

"Cool" I looked down and took a sip of my milkshake, it was really good.

"So guess what I heard" Janelle said as she quickly sat up and put her drink on the table, gleaming at us.

Between the three of us Janelle was always the one with news about everything.

Janelle cleared her throat "I heard that the Alpha's son is transferring to our school" she blurted out.

"The Alpha's Son, as in our future Alpha." Kacey asked.

"Wait to our school?" I asked , I'm not really sure if its bad or not that the Alpha's son is transferring. What If he's cruel, or doesn't like me, or in my class, what if... what if he's a bully and torments me and my friends.

What am I thinking?

Not everything is about me, who knows if I'll even be friends with him.

I quickly got out of my thoughts when Kacey snapped her fingers in my face.

"Earth to Josie, you there" I could plainly see the amusement on both of my best friend's faces.

"Don't worry if he's in your class, I'm sure he'll like you" Janelle reassured me, wait what.

"Yeah you're our bottle of sunshine" kacey added.

"Was I thinking out loud again" I groaned.

If your wondering why I said again, this happens way too often in my life and has been the source of most of my childhood embarrassments.

"It's why we love you" Janelle smiled at me.

Time flew by so quickly I didn't even notice that it was already six in the afternoon. I guess I was too caught up talking with my friends. I better get home.

"I think its time to go home" I got up and called for a waiter, after a tiny argument about who should pay the bill, Kacey finally won and paid, yeah she was actually happy to pay, sometimes I didn't understand that girl.

We walked each other out of the mall and i quickly gave them all goodbye hugs.

"Enjoy the rest of your birthday" Janelle said as I gave her her hug.

I waved goodbye whilst I was walking towards my motorcycle.

I pulled on my helmet and hopped on. I started the engine and drove off. I didn't even notice how dark it was, all the kids were inside their homes. All the light was coming from the sky and the street lamps, but I still had goosebumps.

"Hey Elena" I whispered.

"Yes Josie".

"Well you don't have to be so excited to hear from me" I said as I rolled my eyes.

"I'm sorry but i was sleeping" she answered.

"Don't you think this place looks creepy at night" I asked totally ignoring her previous statement.

"Yeah it does look off" she said and yawned.

"Okay okay you can go back to sleep, happy birthday by the way" I said softly.

"Elena, did you hear me, Elena?" She fell asleep on me, wow.

Even though she makes me feel like pulling my hair out sometimes I can't get rid of her. Even if I could I wouldn't, she is my wolf, my other half, I wouldn't trade her in for the world.
