Kannon

Waking up from my sleep, the sunlight from the window caused me to pull my covers over my head.

I don't know if I was tripping or not, but something smelled so fucking good.

I got up out the bed and threw some gray sweats on before going downstairs.

As I got closer to the front area of my house, I heard some loud singing.

It was coming from the kitchen, so I walked in there to see Cree cooking and singing.

I could've interrupted her, but I stood away from her sight and listened to her.

She was singing If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys, and she sounded so fucking good.

"Some people want it all. But I don't want nothing at all. If it ain't you baby. If I ain't got you baby." she sang loudly.

I was amazed at how good she hit all them high notes and shit. I ain't never heard nobody sing that song that good besides Alicia Keys herself.

I decided to step back in the kitchen once my stomach started growling from the smell of food.

"Some just want everything. But everything means nothing, if I ain't got yoouuu. Yeah!" I let her finish that last high note before I cleared my throat.

She gasped and jumped at the same time looking back at me.

"Sorry to interrupt. Whatchu cooking?" I said walking over to the stove where she was.

She looked at me petrified. I'm guessing she was embarrassed because she knew I heard her singing.

"Um, just pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. Nothing extravagant. I felt I needed to repay you somehow ya know?" she said running her fingers through her hair and smiling at me.

"Well I preciate it." I said watching her cook.

After a while I caught myself staring at her. That curly hair, that soft skin, them dimples.. jesus them dimples!

Chill out Kan.

I stopped staring and went to go sit at the table and wait on my food.

Soon enough, she came walking towards me with a plate and sat it down in front of me.

"Enjoy." she said smiling.

"Uh uh. You smiling a little too much. Did you poison my food man?" I said looking down at my plate. Everything looked good, but you can never be too sure.

"Boy no! I just had a good morning that's all." she said walking away.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

Okay.. whatever the fuck that means.

I drowned my pancakes in syrup and chewed slowly. It tasted great actually.
