Cree
This week has been a roller coaster ride, mainly because it's my first week working at Foot Locker.
I was in the back getting this woman a size 6 pair of white huaraches.
When I came out with the box, I handed her one shoe to try on.
"It fits perfectly." she said smiling.
"Okay great! So you're ready to check out?" I asked.
"Yep." she put the shoe back in the box and slipped her foot back in her flip flop.
I walked behind the cash register and rang up the shoes.
"That'll be $85.34." I was glad that she wasn't like the customers who don't know what their shoe size is or what shoe they want to get.
She left with the shoes and receipt.
I went to go stand at the front of the store like I was told to do, to ask if the customers needed help finding anything when they walked in.
I watched as a guy walked in with his head down looking at his phone. He seemed a little familiar.
He finally looks up preventing himself from bumping into anything and I see his face.
It's Mehki. He stops directly in front of me looking me in my face with a grin.
"Cree right?" he says with a smile.
"Yeah. Mehki right?"
"Yeah. You work here?" he asks while slipping his phone in his pocket.
"Uh, yeah. You need help with anything?"
"Actually I do. I need some great running shoes today."
"Okay. Well I have some great suggestions then." I said leading him to some running shoes.
He picked some, he tried them on his feet, and in no time I was checking him out at the cash register.
"Thank you alot for helping me." he said taking the bag from me.
"Oh ya know, it's my job." I said and then started to laugh.
He laughed along. I expected him to walk away and say bye, but he didn't. He just stood there.
"Uh, so maybe you could let me take you out some time? When you're not busy." he said nervously.
