Chapter 1

Blades POV

Trigger Warning!

Waking up this morning was like waking up every other morning. My mom and dad were fighting again. I just wish that dad would leave already. Trust me I know it sounds bad, but he's just creating even more problems, my parents already abuse me but when my mom and dad get in a fight and mom leaves angry to go to a bar, the abuse is even worse.

My birthday is in two days, I'll be turning 19 and that's when I'm finally leaving. I'm going to California to live with a friend I met online. I know that sounds dangerous but I've known her for a few years now and we've had video chats, so I know that she's legit. She's going to let me work at her tattoo parlor so I can make money.

I was thinking how awesome it was going to be that I was going to live in California, but then I heard someone storming upstairs. My door swung open and it was my dad.

"I'm leaving for good now bitch and I want to beat you one more time, so I can be even more happy when I leave. "

I just stood there waiting for what was coming, I knew that it would be worse than usual.

I was pushed on the ground and punched in the face then in the arm. He kicked me in the ribs twice and then picked me up and threw me into my wall.

"Thanks for being a failure and a freak, I'm not going to miss you or your bitch of a mom, the only thing we had in common was hating you. "

With that he left, leaving me once again a crying mess curled up in a ball on the floor. I'm glad he's leaving, one less parent to hurt me. But hey I'm leaving soon anyway. I carefully got up and walked out of my room in pain. I saw my mom walking out of the house, I knew that she was going to a bar, to drink her sorrows away. I know when I think these things I sound like a terrible girl but it's the truth.

I had a special place that I found three weeks ago that I go to when she leaves so I can wait till she comes home and passes out. The best part about my hide out is that I met a friend that's just like me and uses this place for the same purpose. His name is Damon and he is one of my only friends along with Autumn who is the one I'm going to live with in California.

My parent don't know about them so they can't keep me away from them because they make me happy. The only bad part is that I don't want to have to tell Damon that I'm leaving. I'm his only friend and I don't want to leave him. I know we'll keep in touch though, we have each others phone numbers and Skype usernames so I know we'll keep talking.

I just have to text him to meet me there.
D= Damon B= Blade

B: Hey I'm going to the hide out.

D: Okay I'll meet you there.

B: Okay and brace yourself, I have something important to tell you.

With that I turned off my phone and left to the hide out.

The hide out was and abandoned cabin in the woods that nobody has been to in years. It sounds scary but it's awesome. Scary is kind of who I am. In high school people stayed away from me because they were scared of me, that's how I got the nickname Blade. I was bullied from 6th grade to freshman year, that was when I started fighting back and once I did they left me alone and everyone stayed away from me. I would fight back with my parents but they would call the cops on me and I don't feel like going to jail.

Now I was at my hide out and I saw Damon was already there.

"Hey Damon" I said.

"Hey, so what happened at home this time or did your mom just want to go to a bar?"

"Well my dad is finally leaving for good this time."

"Oh, that's great, but the bruise on your cheek is not."

"Yeah well he gave me one last beating before he left."

"I'm so sorry Blade, I wish you didn't have to go through something as bad as this."

"You have to go through stuff like this too, so don't apologize."

"Yeah but mine is not as bad as yours so I feel bad."

"Well I'm going to be so much better soon I promise."

"What, Why?"

"Well Damon, this is the important thing that I had to tell you. On my birthday, I'm moving to California to live with my friend Autumn that i told you about."

"Wait so, so your leaving!"

"Yeah, but Damon it's what's best for me."

"I- I'm just going to miss you so much."

"Hey, we'll stay in touch trust me. I will text you every day and when I feel like I need to see you I'll call you on skype."

"Promise?"

"Promise, now let's just have fun hanging out and not think about me leaving."

Damon nodded his head and we sat down leaning our backs on a wall. We talked about how awesome it would be to live on our own and discussed times that we could visit each other. It was now two in the afternoon and we planned to take a walk.

We went to the mall and got Burger King for lunch and Starbucks after that. We ran into some assholes and I scared them away by putting one of the guys arms into the position where I could break it and told them to leave or I would break it. They all ran away after that.

We went to the park after that and went up a tree. We talked about random things and made each other laugh at each others jokes. Damn I'm really going to miss this guy. We kept talking until I got a text from my mom.

M: I'm home, where are you bitch I swear to god you better get home right know.

It was six o'clock now so I'll wait till seven thirty to go home.

"Um Damon I'm gonna go home at seven thirty, my mom should be passed out by then."

"Okay I'm good with that."

We got out of the tree and went too an ice cream parlor after that. We got so many dirty looks, but we just gave them death stares and they looked away from us. We ordered our ice cream and sat down outside once we got it. We talked some more before I checked the time and it was seven thirty.

"I'm seven thirty Damon, I'm gonna go home."

"Okay and lets hang out tomorrow I want to see you as much as possible before you go."

I giggled. "Okay, bye."

"Bye"

With that I started walking home.

When I got home I saw my mom passed out on the couch. I silently closed the door and walked up to my room as quiet as possible. I got into my Jack Skellington pajamas and put on the movie Edward Scissorhands. After that movie I fell into a dreamless sleep.
