"Don't let him get out of our sight!" Yelled the man, soaring threw the trees on his horse who was as black as the shadows. They galloped threw the brush and thicked, the horse panting and breathing heavily as it dashed across the soil. Their focus was on a black figure in front of them, who was barely even visible. The chase started when the horses in the stable started trembling, and the men ran out to find that figure inside the barn, snapping at the mares feet. So they all went on horse back to catch the beast. But they don't understand why they seem to be getting further and further behind it. The figure suddenly bolted, dashing even further ahead to were it wasn't even visible anymore. The men whipped their horses, and sped up alittle more but they still couldn't see it. The black horse in the front of the rest skidded to a halt and reared up, knocking the rider off his back and slamming against the ground. "What the hell, what was that for!" screamed the rider. He stumbled back up and grabbed the reins, trying to calm his horse down, but nothing seemed to be working. The horse then collapsed to its side, shaking. The rider knelt by his mares side and examined the horse. He rubbed his fingers across his black coat and then felt something wet and gushy on the horses right leg. He lifted his fingers up and glanced at his fingers, that appeared to be covered in blood. "Bring me the first aid kit NOW!" ordered the terrified rider. "Who did this.." he wondered. He grabbed a flash light quickly out of his pocket and shined it over were he felt the blood. There was a giant bite mark across the mares leg. The bite was so deep, he could see past the mares ripped flesh to were the bone was located. He looked up at the other riders who were completly clueless on how the mark got there. They all looked at each other, passing on opinions in each others ears on how they thought it happened. The rider looked back at his horse, and realized that the mare was already gone. He layed his head on the horses back and tried to hold back the tears. There was a long moment of silence, when suddenly the riders looked up at a tall cliff in the distance. There stood the figure, staring down at them. It's red eyes glowing, and growling down at them. The rider stood up from his horse and yelled," You monster! It was you who did this!" The other men grabbed him and held him back. The figure blinked and glared at him for a minute, and tilted his head to the side. "Do you not understand what you've done!" Yelled the rider again. He fell to his knees, tears pouring down his face. He glanced up one more time, and the figure tilted its head up. After that moment, the figure let out a long mournful howl that sent chills down the mens spine. Everyone shivered and watched as the figure bolted off into the forest. The rider stood back up and looked at the men. "Now we know... That this whole time it was the legendary wolf."
