I had managed to get John Watson's number. I wanted to have him be the one that tells me everything about Mr. Holmes. We texted for a while, I just asked him about their address and if Sherlock was home. John had answered, along with asking me how I feel about Sherlock for some reason. I merely responded saying that I am not sure just yet... because I'm really not.
On my way, I continued to talk to John.
I'm not sure about him. He is a very complex man... -ZS
Well, he says you're a very complex woman. -JW
Well I guess we are on the same page then. -ZS
Finally I had arrived to Baker Street. Nice area. Very calming. I knocked on the door, and was greeted by a sweet woman. "Why hello dear, what is your name?" She asked. "Zinnia... I'm here to see Sherlock." I smiled at her. Her eyes widened, and she scanned me, then smiled back. "I'll tell him you're here. I'm Ms. Hudson." I stopped her before she could call his name. "Oh, you mind not telling him I'm here? I want to surprise him." She nodded. "Ah, I see. Then by all means dear, please come in." I stepped inside of the small building and looked around examining it. Ms. Hudson seemed delighted to have me here... maybe she thought I'm a possible lover of Sherlock's? Also, I wondered who exactly she was. No, not a mother. I'd say a housekeeper of some sort. Perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe the owner of the flat?
She quietly opened the door and we entered. I saw John sitting on a chair, scrolling through his computer. He looked up at me and over at Sherlock. I turned toward the kitchen, seeing Sherlock with several tubes and chemicals. He hadn't yet noticed me, since he was too busy with his work. "Forensics?" I asked, and he immediately looked up. I could see that he was masking his surprise. "Precisely." He took his gloves off and faced me. A silence occurred, followed by a deep stare into eachothers eyes. It seemed like I had been staring at him for an eternity, when it was only a matter of a few seconds. His pupils dilated slightly. This hit me by surprise, and I broke the stare.
Ms. Hudson looked at the both of us and eventually ended the silence. "Does anyone want tea?" She walked into the kitchen. "Sherlock, clean up this mess. You have a guest." She shook her head at him and opened a cabinet. "Tea sounds lovely, Ms. Hudson." I said. Sherlock looked over at John with a 'what is she doing here' look, and John just shrugged. Sherlock narrowed his eyes at John and looked back at me. I grinned a bit. I was glad Mr. Watson was kind enough not to mention that I had been talking to him. Sherlock cleared his throat. "Would you like to speak outside, Ms. Sterling?" I shook my head. "It's far too cold outside. I'd prefer your room." I gave him a warm smile and he raised a brow. "Why of course. This way." He knew what I was up to. I wanted to see his room to find out more about him. He didn't deny my request though. I was freaking out about the whole pupil dilation thing, so perhaps asking to go to his room wasn't the best idea. Maybe I was imagining things... I must have been.
We entered the door and he closed it behind him. "What do you want?" He asked. I just walked around in his room, looking at his things. "Oh nothing, just thought I'd drop by." He shook his head. "If this is about the cafe incident, I apologize... It was none of my business to begin with. Your boyfriend was just being so idiotic. I don't understand how someone with such a brilliant mind can stand being with someone who is so uneducated." I stopped looking at his things and looked up at him. "Are you saying you don't think I should be with him? Well, Mr. Holmes... not everyone is so brilliant minded. Sometimes we like to settle down for a normal brain. Besides, can you imagine how crazy it would be for two incredibly intelligent people to be lovers? Things would fall into chaos. They could practically rule the world." I laughed a bit, and he spoke up. "I don't particularly see anything wrong with that..."
"So is it true, then?" I walked over and stood in front of him. He was quite tall compared to me. He was about six feet tall while I was 5'5. He looked down at me. "What are you talking about?" I sighed. "You know exactly what I'm talking about. Is it true that Ben feels like that about me?" His face softened. "That's for you to decide. Certainly you know more about him than I do, I'm sure. Perhaps I'm wrong." I shook my head. "Are you just saying that to not hurt my feelings?" I crossed my arms. He looked away. "Clearly you don't know me, Zinnia. I don't care for people's feelings. Emotions are rather meaningless... I could care less."
I scoffed and went back to walking around his room. "I think you're lying to me." He stood there, thinking for a moment. "Ms. Sterling if you don't need anything from me, then you can leave my flat." I sat down on his bed and crossed my legs. "I think we should work together. Solve crimes as a duo. We'd be unstoppable." He shook his head. "Didn't you say that you don't believe two brilliant minds should be partners?" I glanced out his window. "I said two brilliant minds shouldn't be lovers. Don't mix them up." He narrowed his eyes. "I have John as a partner. I don't need you." I tilted my head and shrugged, getting off of the bed and heading for the door. "Very well then. I hope we bump into each other again."
Sherlock opened the door for me, and John, Ms. Hudson, and another woman fell at the entrance. My eyes widened and I looked at Sherlock. His hands were behind his back and he raised a brow. John cleared his throat. "Erm... we wanted to check to see if you guys were doing okay." I laughed. "Perhaps eavesdropping isn't the best way to check on us?" They all got up, looking embarrassed. The woman I hadn't seen before spoke up. "I'm Mary... Mary Watson." She shook my hand and smiled at me.
John's wife huh? I smiled back at her. She seemed like a really nice woman, perfect for John. "Zinnia Sterling." I said. "Nice to meet you." She nodded. "So how do you two know each other?" She asked. I shrugged and looked over at him. "I'm just someone who met him through a case." I let go of her hand. "I must be leaving, it was a pleasure meeting all of you." I passed through and walked towards the exit. "Come again, darling. You're welcome to come any day you'd like." Said Ms. Hudson. I looked back at her and nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow at work, Ms. Sterling." Sherlock told me as I left. I smiled a bit, and exited the door, leaving Baker street.
