"Wait, I think I see someone," Isabel's eyes are trained on movement beside the building before her.

Jacob looks in her direction and waits. Crumbled pieces of paper and plastic bags filled the roads and shattered glass glistened in front of buildings. The windows that were intact produced a lovely shade of dark brown over the years. The teenagers inhaled dust in the air rather any oxygen, if there was any left.

"Look, over there, those two men, they're not walkers," Jacob peers at the men. "Should we talk to them? They look like they're lost or something."

"Let them pass. They aren't hurting anyone." They hid behind the car as the two men, one visibly younger than the other, carefully make their way down another street.

The other half of the group was inside the broken down motel, collecting any useful items they can take back to the safe zone anything they needed in order to live humanely. They collected such items in giant duffle bags, two per person. When finished, they would walk down to the giant dirty white van, neatly pack everything and move along to the next destination to repeat the process.

Occasionally they would have to evacuate and rush to the next place (or home) due to an overwhelming amount of walkers that would come flushing in. They manage on their own with the heavy artillery but mainly depended on stealth.

"Do you have any room for this?" Alexander tosses a box of unopened condoms to Henry. He smirks.

"Okay, as long as you can spare a couple for me," Henry says with a sly smirk. Alexander quirks an eyebrow.

"Who're you smashing?" Henry shrugs as he wedges the box into the side of his bag.

"A gentleman never kisses and tells my friend," Alexander nods his head.

"Fair point," Alexander glances around the room they were looting from.

"I think we got everything in here. Let's go before Jasmine starts bitching," Henry pushes the cupboard close and wobbles to the next room.

"Don't say that man, she's just trying to get things done quickly-"

"Yeah, yeah bro I get it. What I don't get is why you're not making a move on her. Everyone basically knows you're in love with the chick, go for it, you already have dibs," Henry quietly rants as Alexander follows closely behind.

"Which frankly, I don't think anyone would find her remotely attractive with that mouth of hers. I mean, don't get me wrong, she's hot or whatever, but she's a bit of a-"

"Alright that's enough, just finish packing," Alexander rolls his eyes.

After about ten minutes of quiet scavenging, the group finished packing and make their way to the parked vehicle. All paired up forming in a line, and each carrying variations of hand and machine guns whilst a sharp knife strapped to their belt.

"Why couldn't we park the van at the fucking hotel," Kim mumbled under her breath.

"Do you remember when we nearly fucking died because someone decided to honk the horn and wake everyone up?" Jasmine glared at Kim, feeling her stomach clench.

"My gun got in the way actually and it was an accident. I don't have to be the one watching the van," Kim persisted.

"I don't have to explain myself to you, now shut up before you put us through another near death experience."

Kim rolled her eyes but did as she was told.

They approached their van and began filling in, unzipping their luggage as they sat down.
