You and Shawn have been dating for 3 years now and they have been the best 3 years of your life. Shawn had to go on tour for 3 months and you couldn't be any happier for him but in the time he was gone you had your prom. You guys had planned this day for ages and sadly Shawn isnt going to be here for it. Later on it the night you and Shawn were facetiming when Shawn brought up prom.
~ FACETIME CONVERSATION ~
Shawn: "y/n I'm so, so, so sorry I can't be there with you and take you to prom"
Y/n: " it's okay shawn don't worry! I'll try find someone to go with"
Shawn: "I still feel guilty"
Y/n: "please don't be. There's nothing to worry about ok?"
Shawn: "okay.."
Y/n: "let's change the topic.. How's your going?! Are you having fun?"
Shawn: "yeh it's so much fun but I miss you so much more"
Y/n: "I miss you too Shawny boy. Only 2 more months til you come back home"
Shawn: " I know but it feels like for ever"
Y/n: "I know but it will be gone in no time. I have to go. Me and mum are going dress shopping. "
Shawn: " okay, I'll text or call you later. I'm still really sorry I can't come but I hope you have fun shopping"
Y/n: " it's fine Shawn ! I will ! See ya love you "
Shawn: " love you too y/n/n "
Y/n: *giggles* see ya"
~ HANGS UP ~
After you hang up from Shawn you and your mum go shopping for dresses. You went to Forever 21 and many more stores and tried on heaps of dresses. There was one particular dress that caught your attention from the corner of your eye. You run to it and grab it, checking the size. Exactly your size. You show your mum and she thought it was beautiful and perfect for you. It was a royal blue, long dress with diamond details on the upper half of the dress ( it's at the top ^ ). It was perfect! You go into the changing rooms and try it on. You show your mum and her jaw drops. " you look... wow". You turn around and look at yourself in the mirror. You looked amazing in this dress ! You decided to buy this no matter what so you change back into regular clothes and go pay for it. When you pay for it you search through your bag and find an envelope that had money in it. You were confused because you never put money in your bag like that. You look at the back of the envelope and it said :
Dear y/n ,
I know that I can't be there for your special night so I thought I'd at least pay for your dress. You can't give it back to me you have to use all of the money for your dress and if you have left over money spend it on shoes, jewellery, whatever you want. I love you and I hope you have a good night xx

You smile so hard it hurts and think about how much you love Shawn. You use the money he gave you since if you didn't he would not accept it back. You did end up having a bit of extra money for it so you went to buy some shoes to match your dress and you already had jewellery at home so you were complete with your outfit.
~ PROM NIGHT ~
Tonight's the night. Prom night. You were excited but sad because Shawn couldn't be here to go with you and every guy you asked already had a date so you were going on your own. You got ready and layer your dress on your bed. You plugged in your curling wand and let it beat up while you started on your makeup. You went light and natural but not too natural. You did loose curls in your hair and once you were done you put your dress on, shoes and jewellery. You quickly decided to FaceTime Shawn so he could see what your wearing and for good luck.
~ FACETIME CONVERSATION ~
Y/n: " hey Shawn! "
Shawn: " hel...woah"
Y/n: *giggles* " what ?"
Shawn: " you look.... Amazing.. Stunning.. Beautiful"
Y/n: *blushes* " thanks Shawny"
Shawn: "now I really wish I was there " *pouts*
Y/n: " it's ok at least you saw me"
Shawn: " I guess. I have to go I have to go perform but I hope you have a good night and I'll see you soon. Love you"
Y/n: " love you too. Have fun!"
~ HANGS UP ~
You grab your clutch but your phone, lipstick and some money just in case and walk down stairs. Your family was at the end of the stairs and they look at you smiling. "You look beautiful! " your mum says. " thank you ". You take photos and leave. Your family drives you to your school and you say bye. You walk in feeling a bit sad but once you walk in you see your friends and all compliment each other and start dancing. The music starts to slow down and everyone goes to there partners to dance. You walk over to the seats on the sad and a tear slides down your cheek. You really wish Shawn was here but he's not sadly. While everyone's dancing the music starts playing and a familiar song starts playing. It's one of Shawn's songs off his album " Never be alone". Soon more tears slide down your face until you hear a familiar voice start singing. You frown in confusion and look up to the stage to see Shawn singing his song. You walk to the centre of the room and stare at his eyes. His smile is lighting up the room as he looks at you and all you can do it just cry in tears of joy and shock. Eventually the song ends and Shane walks down from the stage. You run to each other and hug each other so tight while you cry into his neck. He rubs your back and tries to calm you down. "Shhh it's ok I'm here now , it's ok" he whispers in your ear and you start to calm down. You back away a bit and stare at him. " how.. What... Who... What are you doing here?? Aren't you supposed to be on tour??" You ask in shock. " well I couldn't miss the night that we had both been planning and waiting for could I? I wanted to surprise you so we can enjoy the night we have been waiting for " he says as he smiles at you and chuckles. You smile and lean in and kiss him. You've been waiting for this moment for a long time and it was finally happening. Another slow song comes on again and you guys just stand there and sway back and forth in each other's arms. Shawn goes down next to your ear and whispers , " you weren't expecting that were you " he chuckles. " Never in a million years did I expect this surprise. It's the best surprise I've ever had " you say and smile. You guys spend the rest of the night together taking pictures, dancing and talking and laughing and making the night last and have a blast ☺️
