Marco's POV
Alice and I went to the game on Friday. I could never pay attention to the games but I loved to go because everybody gets so hyped up and happy. Their excitement always made me smile too. I could feel their happy energy, and I loved it. Other people's energies always had such a heavy affect on me.
'Come on Marco, lets go!!' Alice signed, fingers flying a mile a minute.
I laughed. Well, sort of.
I was fixing my hair up. I may be gay, but I'm not super flamboyant. I just like to look nice when I go out.
'Ready.'
The second I signed I was ready we were out the door, me getting thrown into the passenger seat while Alice lunged in.
I grinned. She loves going to games because she gets to see her friends and talk the night away.
I know she gets tired of signing and wants to use her voice, and I feel so bad because that's my fault. I know I shouldn't have... Whatever. At least she can use her voice. I could never use mine again, and it isn't fair. It's all his fault. I hate him. I want to talk. I want to laugh out loud, even if I can't hear it.
I felt a tap on my arm.
'Are you okay?'
I guess Alice noticed my darkening mood.
'Yeah, lets go.' I signed, plastering a grin on my face.
We walked up to the ticket stand and bought our tickets. Alice called someone on her phone and began to talk, obviously really excited to see her other friends.
I looked around at everybody. They were all talking and laughing together, getting piggy back rides and chasing each other. But this time, their excitement didn't make me feel better.
It made me feel worse. There's so much I can't do now. So many dangers.
Could I even live my dream?
John's POV
I laughed at Mike, his stories were always so damn funny.
"Hold up playa, I'm getting a text." He paused. "It's from Alice."
Alice? Wasn't she the one with that Marco boy? The boy I scared, the boy with foamy green eyes? He looked so... conflicted. He looked like he was faking life.
I wonder what happened to him..
"Yo John!" Mike screamed in my ear.
I punched him in the gut and he wheezed.
"Jeez, chill man. Alice and her friend are coming over here to hang with all of us."
"Who's her friend?" I asked, biting my lip.
Mike shrugged. "Some deaf mute kid."
I tensed. I hate when people are so ignorant. Just be nice to people. It's not that hard.
I looked over to where Gina was staring to see Alice, but not Marco. Wait, he was trailing behind her. Makes sense.
I stared out at the field, ignoring that drop in my stomach.
"Hey!" Alice yelled. "John! I didn't know you hung out with this fucker!"
She noogied Mike.
"Yeah, I don't usually come to games." I said, laughing at them.
"I'm glad you did. Marco needs some serious cheering up."
I looked at Marco, seeing his eyes glazed over staring at nothing.
