When the bad boy has a terrible past.
It's like every single bad boy story I've read, has a bad past. Either no dad, or no parents at all because he ran away or they died.
"Yeah well I hate Father's Day." he said coldly, ruining the happy mood.
"Why?" I hesitantly asked.
"My dad was abusive and treated my mom like crap, one day he punched me in the face and my mom decided that was enough. She was pregnant at the time. So she took me away and gave birth a few months later."
