When something bad always happens at a party.
In almost every single story I've read, when the lead character finally decides to have fun and go to a party, something bad happens. Either she almost gets raped, the love interest gets in a fight, or her drink gets spiked. Like I understand the need for it to be dramatic but seriously? How come nothing good ever happens?
