My lungs feel like someone has set them on fire,
Gasping for air.
But I must get this right.
My feet ache and my legs don't even have enough strength to push me up.
But I must get this right.
Trot at A pick it up at C and canter at F for four strides
not that hard.But it is.
I can feel the blaze in my eyes,
I can see the determination on my face.
Her hoofs hit the arenas sand with full force and power. Each step reminding me about how much I want to get into this academy.
" you don't need to kick her on at C you get marked down points just squeeze and release. she should know your in charge she doesn't need a kick for that."
I hear a familiar voice say.
I turn to see my mum looking at me,
The bitterness in her voice makes my stomach turn in knots." I know what I'm doing!" I snap.
I didn't mean too... I know she only wants the best for me but the pressure is to much.
"anyway dinner is ready, I figured you want to eat because it's a big day for you tomorrow."
Mum says putting her hands in her denim blue jeans, rocking back and fourth on her heels.
She turns with her red nose glowing in the wind. Her hair blowing to the side of her showing the hints of grey time has given her.
I wait.
As soon as she walks in to our glowing wooden house I get off.
I slide the rains over my horses head and lead her out of the arena. My
hands reach towards her face as I wrap her Aqua halter around her neck and tie her lead rope to the barn post.I take off her saddle and bridle. Her mouth slowly releases the bit and she looks at me in the eyes.
" aye girl, I'm sorry I worked you so hard today." I say stroking her neck.
I have always felt as though horses communicate more with their eyes than their mouths.
She's such and amazing horse full dapple grey with so much to offer. She jumps like she's flying.
I still remember the day that I got her...
It was like any other day a cold frosty morning. I opened the barn door and there she was! I turned to mum and as water clouded my vision I gave her a hug and whispered the words thank you.
I named her faith because that was what it was pure faith.
