Chapter 15

So, now the guys know. I know they are really worried about me, but I try my best to smile and be happy all the time, since I really don’t want to deal with my feelings. I feel like the guys are waiting for me to crash though. I just hope it won’t happen.

I’m with Liam and Niall in the studio now. Apparently they are releasing Story of My Life today, but their vocals aren’t complete, since someone accidently – or not, who knows – deleted some of the latest recordings. So now we’re here and Liam is recording right now. I’ve heard the song over a twenty times now I guess, and I think I know the whole lyrics. And, if you were wondering, yes, I like the song very much. Love it, in fact. It’s so freaking amazing !

Both Liam and Niall – and probably me too – look death tired, and I feel really bad about it. It’s my fault after all that they didn’t sleep last night. First, they were all wondering what was wrong, and after I told them, we were watching movies and doing crazy stuff to distract me until the sun came up and Niall and Liam received a call saying they had to come to the studio.

Niall’s already done recording, and Liam is doing his solo once more, and I think that after that he’s ready too.

‘Niall, when’s the song officially online ?’ I ask.

‘Normally in half an hour, so we’re probably going to stay here until it’s on, if that’s okay with you.’ He says, looking away from Liam and over to me.

‘Okay.’ I smile at him, and he smiles back.

Liam comes out of the recording room, or, like I like to call it, “the box”. I know, it can also mean the toilet and stuff, but I call it the box. I don’t know why, I just do. Anyways, he comes out and I give him a high-five, saying he did an amazing job.

‘So, are you guys excited about the release ?’ I ask.

‘Yeah ! I really hope the fans will like it.’ Liam says.

‘Yeah, me too.’ Niall answers.

‘They will love it. I know it for sure.’ I smile.

‘You think so ?’ Liam asks.

‘Yeah ! It’s so amazing ! Really, they will love you guys forever because of the song. If they don’t do so already.’

‘Thank you, Eline.’ Liam smiles at me, and I answer with a smile of my own.

During the next 20 minutes, we talk and laugh a lot while the other boys arrive at the studio too. I’m getting a piggyback ride from Louis when someone comes and gets us to release the song on YouTube, and they’re doing a life interview with a radio station from the studio.

‘You guys ready ?’ someone else asks. I think his name is Jake or something, it would fit him. The guys are all sitting at a microphone, and I’m behind them on a bench, looking at them making fun of each other.

The interview starts when a woman starts talking. ‘Dear boys and girls, here’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for ! One Direction releases their new single Story of My life today ! Because of that, we’re having an exclusive interview with the boys of One Direction. Hey guys !’

‘Hello !’ they all answer at the same time.

‘Are you guys excited about the release of the new single ?’ she asks. I see the guys looking at each other, obviously trying to decide who has to answer.

‘Liam !’ I loudly whisper. He looks over at me and I gestured at the microphone, saying he has to answer.

‘Yeah, we really are.’ Liam says. ‘It’s been a long time since we released Best Song Ever, so we get to deal with the excitement that comes with it again, and it’s amazing.’
