Seated in the car, Vishal felt nervous on the way to his wedding. Wearing his wedding suit, he was finally going to meet his Darling for the first time today. His Darling, who loved him so dearly and had made his dream marriage come true. How would Darling be in appearance? Would she look as beautiful as Shreya?
Nay, what are you thinking, Vishal? No comparisons! Absolutely no comparisons! No matter how she looks, she's the one in my heart. I don't care if Darling is not as beautiful or as rich as Shreya or anyone. Darling is my love; she will be my wife and my love forever. She'll be the most beautiful in the world to my eyes and I will look after her like a princess, giving her riches with my earnings. No one can ever be compared to my Darling; she's the best person I can ever meet. And to think she will be my wife, I can't be luckier than this.
As his car was driving up to the marriage venue, a wedding hall near the bride's home, Vishal turned to his grandmother apprehensively.
"Granz, doesn't this look like the same place where mine and Shreya's marriage was supposed to be last time? We came here that day and her father received us but she had run away from the wedding. Do you remember?"
His grandmother tried to suppress her smile. "This will be the venue for yours and Darling's wedding; perhaps it looks similar."
Vishal looked out the window, not contented with his grandmother's answer.
His parents, who were also travelling with them in the same car, glanced at each other in confusion.
As the car came to a stop, Vishal noticed Mr. Reddy and a few other men waiting to receive them.
Astonished, Vishal turned to his grandmother again. "Granz! What is Shreya's Dad doing here?"
"I guess he's been invited for the wedding."
"Oh no, is Shreya gonna be here too?"
His mother, who had been listening to the conversation, answered, "Of course! How can there be a wedding without the bride?"
"Mom!" Vishal paused, feeling puzzled, "I'm getting married to Darling. Not Shreya. Right?"
"Perhaps Shreya might have been invited too." His grandmother replied, seeming unperturbed.
"No way, I won't be able to face her."
"Why not? I thought you agreed to marry her." His father asked, appearing bewildered.
"Dad, no, I didn't agree to marry her! I'm going to marry Darling."
"Mom, I don't get a word what my son is talking." Vishal's mother stated.
"No worries, it's just the last minute jitters." His grandmother justified with a smile.
"No, it's not!" claimed Vishal, "Granz, please tell me, I'm getting married to my Darling today, right?"
"Yes dear."
"Shreya won't be here, right?"
"Vishal and Mom, we really have to get out of the car or the bride's family is gonna worry if we're not interested in the wedding." His father interrupted their conversation.
Although Vishal was still not satisfied with the vague answers from his grandmother, he descended from the car with a poised smile.
Mr. Reddy and the other men welcomed Vishal and led him into the marriage venue, a wedding hall. Vishal felt very guilty as he had rejected Mr. Reddy's daughter, Shreya, to marry Darling. Nevertheless, Mr. Reddy seemed very happy and was talking to Vishal casually.
After meeting and being introduced to many of Darling's family members who seemed familiar, Vishal was led to the wedding altar by Mr. Reddy. As Vishal and Mr. Reddy were standing at the altar for a moment, Vishal decided that this would be the best time he could speak to Mr. Reddy alone.
