"There he is! My precious baby boy!" Mother squealed, her hands wrapped around my face, as she pulled me in close
"Alright mother" I strained to talk, she was hugging me so tightly
"Oh look who it is" Harmony came into the room "Draco Lucius Malfoy"
"Hello" I said, trying to be nice
"Come here little brother!" She came closer and shoved me into a head-lock! Then got her fist and quickly brushed it into my hair, "I missed you so much!!" She added
"Here he is! My Son" Lucius came into the room, harmony let go of me, he held out his hand, and I shook it, Father never was much of a hugger.
"Well we best be off" Narcissa said clapping her hands together, she picked up her bag, kissed goodbye to Lucius, and took hold of mine and Harmony's hands. With a flash we apparated. Having the urge to vomit, I restrained myself from doing so, we were outside The Leaky Cauldron.
We followed mother into the pub, we got glares of many people in the pub, especially ones hanging around the bar, not giving eye contact, she lead us into a back alley. A few taps of her wand on the brick wall and the gateway opened.
"Here we are, Diagon Alley! Remember we're here looking for outfits for the Ball next week, so we can't spend too long around here" Mother said, walking ahead of us. Me and Harmony shared a look, and smirked, looked forward and just ran, we ran down the Alley, like two little kids. We used to do it when we were younger.
We stopped halfway down the steet, everyone looked at us, but we we're too busy laughing, "Was it Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions?" Harmony called, pointing to the shop on her left.
"Yes dear," Mother put her arm on Harmony's shoulder, we walked towards the shop, the bell ringing as we opened the door.
"This is hot" Harmony said, pulling a black dress of a rack, it was a tight fit with a diamond collar.
"Draco this suits you" Mother handed me a suit, it was brown with thrills and frills
"Mum that's hideous! Draco you should wear it" Harmony laughed, I gave Narcissa a weak smile and slowly put it back in the clothes rack.
I walked around the shop, moving coat hangers, I noticed some suits on models but non of them suited the occasion. "Try this one" a voice came from beside me, turning around I saw Sarah smirking at me, she handed be a suit
"Sarah?!" A shriek came from across the shop, Harmony ran over and tightly swung her arms around her best friend, "Sarah! I missed you so much" she cried pulling her away.
"I missed you so much! It's so quiet at school, and I've been having to put up with his mates!" Sarah said, pretending to cry and pointing my way
"Oh god! Draco be nice to Sarah! She's my friend" harmony frowned
"Hahaa" I uneasily chuckled, and left them to it, still holding the suit Sarah handed to me. It wasn't that bad, actually something I would have chosen myself. I still looked around for suits, but in the end I decided to try this one on
"Suits you" Sarah smiled as I opened the curtain from the changing room, " I'm just waiting for Harmony to try on her dress" she added
"Hmm. You picked out this one, its quite nice, I suppose, for a Hufflepuff's taste" I muttered
"Draco you love it! Or you wouldn't have tried it on!" She laughed, it's like she knew me inside out.
"What about this?" Harmony came from the curtain, her amazing black dress was too long and it really didn't suit her
"Harmony that's hideous! You should wear it!" I said mimicking her comment from earlier
"Oh sweetie, it's disgusting, it's all wrong for you, so I took the liberty and found this" Sarah smiled, and handed Harmony a green dress "just try it" She added smiling, Harmony disappeared back through the curtain
I quickly got changed back into my black suit and tie, and came out just in time to see Harmony wear her dress "I love it!" She smiled, it was emerald green, and was fitted, showing off her curves
"It's beautiful!" Sarah smiled, "I knew you'd like it" she added clapping her hands together
"Okay let's go now you two" Narcissa came into the corridor, I noticed Sarah back away a minute. "Sarah! How are you" mother saw her
"Good thank you Mrs Malfoy, yourself" Sarah went shy, and stiff, replying really quickly
"Don't worry dear I won't bite your head off, your mother and I were good friends, we used to sit in the Slytherin dormitory together" she smiled Sarah gave off a weak smile. Suddenly an awkward silence filled the air.
"Goodbye Sarah!" harmony hugged her again, before she went to pay for the dress, leaving me to collect her bags
"Bye Draco" she sighed, picking up her bag, I went to say goodbye back, when I felt a warmth around my waist. She was hugging me, she as in Sarah. But quickly let go and left the shop, without saying a word.
For the rest of the day I didn't say much, but Harmony dragged me down Knockturn Alley. For the rest of the afternoon.
"Hey wassup?" harmony said, as she entered my bedroom, "you were really quiet this afternoon"
"I'm fine, just it's weird to be back, I mean I didn't come home last Christmas, so it's weird no being at Hogwarts" I muttered
"Hmm.. How's things though?" She sat next to me, resting her head on my shoulder
"I don't want to do this" I whispered, "I mean he'll kill me if I don't, but I thave to"
"Draco!" Harmony replied giving me a hug,"you don't have to do it" she whispered to me
"Your doing it again aren't you" I hissed, standing up and walking I've to the window,"telling me I have a choice so father will think in weak! So that your stronger than me!"
"Draco what the merlins beard are you talking about?! I don't want to do this and you obviously don't want to do it!" Harmony sat back on the bed
"We'll your always turning the tables!" I replied turning to face her,"look I don't want to do this now, I swear the worlds messed up!"
Harmony got up and hugged me again,"I miss seeing you, I really do! It's always so quiet" she sighed, "It was nice seeing Sarah today" she smiled, her tone of voice gesturing it was the only thing good in her life right now
"Yeah I guess"I shrugged,"She's different"
"Her life isn't perfect either y'know"Harmony replied."not everyone's life is perfect, she's had it rough"
"Like what?" I asked "what's worse then the position we're in? I'm in?"
"Your so ungrateful Draco. But if you must know, Sarah doesn't have a proper home." harmony whispered, as if I wasn't meant to know. For some reason I felt bad for her, all this time she wanted someone to talk to, and I was just pushing her away.
"Well we know about her dad, obviously. But her mum moved away, and she was really horrible to her" Harmony added filling in the silence of my thinking.
"You know what's weird, if she was a slytherin you'd be made to go to the ball with her" Harmony laughed," just the thought of you and my best friend dating or even holding hands makes me cringe"
"To be honest I think she's going with Blaise" the last bit I whispered
"BLAISE?!" harmony went into hysterics, "how did she get Blaise"
"I think she said yes to him" I shrugged
"She doesn't even like Blaise!.. Are you sure?" Harmony questioned
"Hmm.. I think so" I mumbled. Surely Harmony would know, Sarah would have told her, and if Harmony didn't know then maybe it wasn't true. Not that I care. I'm going with Pansy after all, well apparently.
