During the whole car ride back, I swear I could feel Derek's eyes dart to my bloody legs every now and then. Dusty had fallen asleep in my lap and I gently stroke his fuzzy head, gazing down at him lovingly. The thick silence between us was driving me insane.

"Nice car!" I comment trying to brighten the mood. He doesn't respond and looks straight ahead as if he didn't even hear me.

"What is your family going to say about your injuries" he asks me in an impassive tone, still not looking at me. Hypocrite. You're the one who told me to look at a person you're speaking to them.

"Dunno, my mum's working a late night shift tonight so I'll be sleeping when she comes home and my brother's probably in his room when I get back so he won't have to see me" I presume he's going to ask me about my dad but surprisingly, he doesn't say anything else.

He pulls up outside my house and I quickly mumble "Thank you for driving me home" before getting off. As soon as I step out, freezing strong winds greet me. More like, smash me face on without warning. The wind, mixed with dust and leaves, strikes me like millions of small daggers. It's powerful impact felt the worst around my wounds, an excruciating stinging sensation burning my legs. I watch him pull up in his driveway next door and head inside his freaking mansion.

"Hey Liam I'm home!" I shout outside his room before quickly heading upstairs into my own.

"Heyyy, you're back"

I chuck my bag in a corner and grab a towel from the closet to take a shower. The steamy hot mist lures me into a heavenly wonderland where all my worries evaporate. I mentally prepare myself before allowing the heated water to wash away the blood on my legs, my lips tightly pressed together, internally screaming in agony.

Crap I left my pajamas on my bed. Urghhh it's going to be so cold when I leave this steamy bathroom.

I wrap my towel around me and go out into my room to find my clothes. My pajamas were usually folded beside my pillow and I look around in confusion when I don't see them.

"Looking for something?" a dangerously familiar voice asks making me jump.

Immediately, I spin around to face the owner of the voice and I stare in both shock and horror. I should have known.

Leaning next to my open window was Derek. His eyes scan my body, without even trying to hide it, which was only covered by a measly towel. I could feel my cheeks heat up in embarrassment as I squirm uncomfortably under his scrutiny. I guess we're equal now.

"What the hell! Give me back my clothes and leave!" I whisper yell at him not wanting my brother to hear. His usual cold eyes light up in mischief and his lips twitch upwards, raising an eyebrow. He is clearly enjoying this.

"Hurry up and get changed" he smirks tossing me my clothes. With my heart pounding against my chest, I scramble back into the bathroom making sure to lock the door behind me.

I did NOT expect to see Derek sitting on my bed with an amused look on his face when I walked out of the bathroom in my pyjamas. Why is he still here?!

Oh..my ..god. He's totally judging you right now for wearing 101 dalmatian pyjamas. But they're really cute though!

"Disney eyy? I like it" he murmurs. I fight back a blush unsure whether I should say thanks or not. This was the first compliment (sorta) he has said to me so far.

I glare at him trying to look threatening.

"Why are you breaking into my room!?"

"Says the one who broke into my room a few nights ago"
