Reunions and Other Things

Present time.

"Yoooooo get up, get up, get up first day back sis"

Yesss just what I need on the morning of the first day back an annoying shit of a brother waking me up.

"It's too early for me to come up with a smart remark to say back to you right now so piss off" I grunt out in my attempt to pull myself out of bed and get my eyelids to open and adapt to the light burning through the blinds.

"Aren't you just lovely in the morning?" He laughs as if my morning routine was his entertainment.

"You know I'm awake and you can get out now yeah?" I snap as I was not in the mood right now. What can I say? I love my sleep.

"Alright alright I got it" he says hands up in surrender.

"Mmmgh what a lovely morning" I sarcastically moan to myself.

"Hurry your ass up Adrian and get in the goddamn car!" I call out to the aggravating douche that is also my younger brother.

"Aye chill we aren't late" he replies.
"Why did I agree to drive you to school again?"
"Cause you love me" he answered.
"Mm sometimes" I joke back as we laugh at our silly banter.

"Hey girl" my best friend Macey greets me and I reply back a "Hey Mace" before she tells me the latest gossip as she usually does in the morning.

"So Alisa and Joseph broke up which is tragic, like how long were they together a year and a half? Oh and Jayden is back from his trip, did you see the pics on Insta, he looked like he had a lot of fun.. hold up there he is now."

"You love your gossip aye?" I joke laughing. "Just giving you the facts babe" she giggles back as we walk over to Jay.

"How are my girls?" Jayden exclaimed as he approached us. We didn't really get a chance to see him much these holidays, he went around the US with his family for a while and stayed with some relatives up there during the holidays.

"We're great how are you? How was your trip?"
"American girls are hot" he answered simply back.

Jayden is a serious player, light brown hair, dreamy hazel eyes, real tall and knows exactly how to charm a girl but is one of our best friends and Macey and I put him in his place when we need to. I guess that's why we get along so well. He's a really sweet guy though, really sensitive and supportive when you need him and overall a great friend.

Macey on the other hand is a good girl, not the stereotypical nerd girl that's all about books but just not into dating yet unless it could be something serious and the party scene isn't her favourite, although she does love her gossip. Although the thing is, I am positive she has always had a thing for Jay, it's something that just shows through her protectiveness over him.

Her lengthy, dark brown hair cascades in curls down her back and her face tanned brown with round chocolate brown eyes gives her an overall beautiful appearance.

And then there's me. Theres nothing special really about me, chestnut brown hair, light brown eyes, tannish skin from my Latina descent and a petite figure and that's pretty much it. I'm the smart one out of the group, something that came natural to me at a young age, you'll always catch me cracking jokes and laughing, funny is my thing although I can be pretty awkward when it comes to hanging out with people I don't know.

I'm a pretty average person, except I'm 16 and haven't had a boyfriend yet for reasons I'm not sure of. I mean I had one back in primary school when I was like 10 but I don't think that counts we just held hands and hung out and stuff and he was a douche anyway. I still remember the day we broke up, what can I say? It meant a lot to me at the time.

I think I'm just that girl that guys are friends with and that's about it. I mean I don't think I'm bad looking or anything I think I'm pretty okay, my weight is average I quite like my body, full boobs, curves and ass although I'm more on the small side and my personality isn't bad.

The right guy just hasn't came around I guess, I mean guys have liked me before but they just weren't for me.

First period bell rung ending our catch up, so we all said our goodbyes and started heading to our classes.

"Hey Mitchell" Caleb called to me smirking as we passed each other in the hallway. "Hi Evans" I replied back rolling my eyes smiling.

Calling people by their last names was his thing, all apart of his mysterious demeanour that all the girls loved.

Caleb was one of the guys from the bad ass group, who I am all friends with, just not as close to them as I was to Caleb and I think it's safe to say I have had a massive crush on him since the beginning of high school. We're friends but that's all we will ever be and I've grown used to being stuck in that shitty place they call the "friend zone". He was a walking contradiction, an asshole but a really nice guy at the same time if you get me, one of the things I love about him.

When the bell rang for lunch and I exited the class room, everyone seemed very off. All huddled in their groups sharing whispers and all lingering toward the office.

"Have you seen him"
"I heard he's like a heaps smart hot nerd type of guy"
"He is one beautiful human being"

Who was he? Was he a new teacher, student? Why is everyone freaking about about this?

You bet when I met up with Macey and Jayden at our bench Macey gave me all the answers.

"Have you heard? What am I saying of course you heard about him he's a new student in our year! From my sources I've found he is top of all his classes, real smart guy and has the looks of an angel and the... Oh my shit." She interrupted herself suddenly.

"Mace what's wrong" I asked worried.

"There he is and oh he is gorgeous" she swooned. I turned around and what I saw wasn't what I was expecting. I knew that face.

"He's not that good looking, I'm hotter." Jayden grumbled clearly not liking all the attention this new guy was getting.

"I'm with Jayden he isn't all that." I lied. "What is wrong with you two, have you seen the guy?" She questioned.

Daniel Hayes. I recognise that face like it was the back of my hand. My first and only boyfriend and my first and only heartbreak. He probably wouldn't even know who I am anymore but I thought about him for years after he dumped me, I guess you can say I am one to hold a grudge.
