Chapter 4

- Five years later -
I wake up to the sound of Delilah screaming. "Delilah Jo Audrey! Do you have any idea what time it is?
Suddenly she bursts into my room tears streaming down her face. I place my hand on her forehead and cheeks. She is dripping with cold sweat. "Mommy, he tried to take me. The man at the window tried to take me."
     I knew instantly who it was. When Delilah first came into my life and I told Aaron he wanted her gone. I tried to work it out with him, but he tried to kill her. So I did what any sane person would do and broke up with him. Now for the past few weeks he try's to break in to get her. At first I just brushed it off and told Delilah it was nightmares and to go back to sleep. But it's gone to far.
     I pick up the phone and dial 911. I tell the man on the phone about my emergency. He tells me that he is sending a group of police to try and get him. When the police arrive they have Delilah explain what he looked like and where he was. I told them about how I used to date him and how he had tried to kill her when she was a baby. They told me they would do their best to catch him and if he was caught he would definitely go to jail for at least one to two years.
     As they were investigating I noticed one of them kept glancing my way. I smiled at him and he gave me an adorable half smile. Then the chief told him to quit flirting and get to investigating. This made him blush a lot. I couldn't help think that I hoped he would give me his number.
     After they were done and were chatting. The one who smiled at me came over to me. "Hey I'm Josh, I was wandering if you would like to get coffee sometime?" This couldn't have gone better! Inside I was all happy and really wanted to scream out YES OF COURSE, but I had to keep cool. "Sure, and I'm Olivia by the way."
"Cool, I thought you would have declined since we only just met."
"Well I mean how could anyone resist those dimples and adorable smile." I noticed him blushing and gasping for words. Then my mind caught up with my mouth and I realized what I had just said. My face probably went fifty shades of pink and red before either of us said a word. "Uh... Ok then I gonna um... See ya at coffee I guess." Before I was able to respond he had got in the cop car and was down the road. I can't believe I embarrassed myself like that and in front of a cute guy too. Then it hit me we didn't plan a time or date and I didn't get his number. Then I glanced down at my feet and there was a small piece of paper that read call me with his number on it. I was so relieved. I walked back in the house and back to bed very happy.
