"It's getting late, I think we'll leave you guys to it." Hadley yawned, stretching her arms up as the movie ended. The Fisher family had come home and had a movie night, something that hadn't felt complete since Mike had left. "Come on Addie, let's go upstairs."

"Are you sure? You guys don't have to go to sleep yet." Carrie pealed off her husband who she'd been cuddling with under a blanket all night.

"Yeah, we know you need some alone time, it's okay." Hadley chuckled, winking at her parents. "Have fun, but not too much fun."

Carrie threw a pillow at her daughter, trying to hide her now rosy cheeks.

Hadley just grinned in reply. She leaned down and kissed her moms forehead. "Goodnight mom."

"Night Dad, I'm glad you're home." She hugged her father and gave him a quick kiss too. Addie did the same.

"Love you girls!" Mike shouted as they stepped onto the stairs.

"We love you too." They said in unison, disappearing up the stairs.

"Those kids are something else." Carrie shook her head and rolled her eyes slightly.

"Mhmm, I missed them so much." Mike answered. "But not as much as I've missed you."

"I know, it's been so hard not having you here for so long. I didn't think I could take it much longer, I've been counting down the days since you left." Carrie admitted. She curled back up beside him with her head resting on his chest and one leg draped over his. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad you had such an amazing opportunity and that you got to go and enjoy it so much, but we really missed you back here in Nashville."

"Me too. Don't worry, I'm not going to do it again next year. Once was enough." Mike ran his fingers through his wife's long hair as he spoke.

"Thank goodness, if you ever do that again I think I'll just have to uproot the kids and go with you." Carrie chuckled. "The girls really missed you, especially Addie, she's such a daddy's girl still."

"I could tell every time I talked to her. Hadley said she cried when she told her I was coming home." Mike chuckled lightly.

"Awee, that's so cute." Carrie played with his t shirt and looked up at him. "I can't believe you did all of that without me knowing. I had absolutely no clue at all."

"That was the point." Mike grinned, giving her a pop kiss. "I really didn't think it would work out though. I figured even if we could pull it off, one of the girls would blab."

"I know! They're never good secret keepers, I don't know how Addie didn't let it slip."

"She didn't know until this morning. Hadley and I planned it all out. She made sure you agreed to dinner and then told Hadley. Then she came and picked me up at the airport." Mike explained.

"Sneaky sneaky!" She giggled. "It was the greatest surprise ever."

"I knew it would be." Mike grinned, kissing her forehead.

"I've missed this so much lately, cuddling and talking like this after the girls go to sleep." Carrie traced the writing on Mike's t shirt as she spoke softly.

"I know, I have too. There's just nothing else like it."

"You know, four months is an awful long time to be apart." Carrie sat up and bit her lip, placing her hand on his chest.

"Mhm" Mike muttered, not sure where his wife was going with this.

"And I think we have a lot of catching up to do." She leaned closer and bit her lip harder, a smirk coming out of it.

"Mm, that we do." Mike replied, raising his eyebrow.

He placed his hand on her cheek, caressing it as their lips touched. He slipped his other hand around her waist, pulling her onto his lap without breaking the kiss.

"Mmm Mike." Carrie mumbled breathlessly, wrapping her arms around his neck as she straddled him. "Mike, upstairs."

The couple stood up from the couch, not breaking their now heated make out session. Carrie wrapped her legs around Mike's waist as he carried her up the stairs, careful not to make too much noise.

He kicked the bedroom door shut with his foot and threw Carrie down on the bed as she giggled.

She sat at the edge of the bed, slowly removing her shirt sexily. She smirked at her husband, biting her lip as she slid it over her head and threw it to the ground.

"What? Are you just going to stand there and watch me undress?"

Mike jumped on what she was saying immediately and ripped his shirt off. He pushed her down onto her back and slid her shorts off in the process.

"I've missed this." Mike continued to kiss her, their tongues battling for dominance as he began to caress her body.

Carrie opened her mouth to reply, but all that came out was a moan. She'd forgotten how good it felt to be touched again after so long.

The couple spent the rest of the night twisting and turning in each other arms and making up for lost time before finally falling asleep in each other's arms together, right where they were meant to be.
