CARA'S POV:

I look at myself in the mirror for the 3rd time and sigh. "This is it." i say to myself. "The first day at work". Last week i popped over to my local restaurant across the road from me to ask if they had any jobs going. Turns out they had and exactly 7 days later, here i am, about to start work as a waitress.

Let me introduce myself. I'm Cara, your normal 16 year old girl in her final year or High School. I have long dirty blonde hair and blue/green eyes. I'm not exactly short, but i'm certainly not tall either, just average height. Other than school, i don't tend to do much else. I've never been the most sociable person, and i'm certainly not outgoing and confident; that's why i listen to music. I suppose you could say i'm addicted to it, it's like my drug. Well, they do say 'music is your life and lyrics are you story', right? Well here's my story.

I glance over to my alarm clock that's sat on my desk and realise i started work in 10 minutes. I grabbed my shoes, took a quick look in the mirror once more, then set off down the stairs. "I'm off to work mum!", i shout up the stairs. "Okay Sweetie, have a good shift" she calls back from the living room. I grabbed my keys and a pen off the side of the worktop and shove them into my jean pockets before walking out the door. "Here we go" i mutter to myself as i shut the door behind me.

The walk to work only took a couple of minutes, i mean, it's practically opposite my house! Once i found the staff entrance to the restaurant around the back of the building, i took my phone out of my back pocket and checked myself in the reflection once more. I don't exactly want to be going into work with smudges of mascara on my face or lipstick on my teeth. Once i was happy with my appearance, or as happy as i could be, i placed my phone back into the pocket and opened the door. 'This is it' i thought. 'This is my job for the next however many years and these are the people i will be spending most of my life with'.
