"Cy, I don't even know this!" Empress raised her voice to Cypress, her twin, as a sign of giving up.
Cypress crossed her arms on her chest and sighed deeply. She always got annoyed to her sister, especially when Empress did not follow her instructions because she thought about Cypress as acting like a mother for her when the reality was Cypress was only just her sister, her identical twin. Cypress wanted her the best of all, she wanted her to reached a dream that Cypress wanted for her, being a Writer. But she knew that Empress did not like the idea of being a writer. Writing had never reached Empress's to-do list, bucket list and dream job list. "You can try, Empress. It's fun though. I can teach you." She grinned.
"I know but I really don't want to." Empress pouted her lips. Why is my twin so stubborn and doesn't understand me at all?, she thought.
Cypress sighed again showing her disappointment. "Couldn't force you anymore." she mumbled to herself.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing." Cypress gave up to Empress. Empress went upstairs, going to her bedroom without a word. She sat on the couch beside her and be silent for awhile before leaving some words that Empress was not expecting to come out on her mouth. Writing was Cypress's passion, so she was wishing to see her twin also to be one. The only thing that Empress liked was reading. Empress thought of reading as her hobby, that was a thing that Cypress was glad of. She introduced her world full of reading and imaginations to Empress that she liked.
She reached for the remote and open the television. After thirty minutes of watching her favorite TV show, she thought of something enjoyable for her and Empress. Also, this was to make themselves calm after what happened. "We might go together to the Bookstore." she told herself. She smiled and nodded to her agreement to herself.
She turned the TV off, rushed upstairs to Empress's room and slowly knocked with a smile on her face. After many knocks she did, Empress did not open or answer. Cypress knocked once more, no answer. She quickly opened the door and saw Empress listening to her iPod and reading a book while resting on her bed. Cypress entered her room while stamping her feet, showing that she was upset. "Why didn't you answer?"
"I'm reading, Cy, okay?" She sat up straight. "And you're not showing some respect to someone who is reading."
How unreasonable, Cypress thought. "It is you who is not showing some respect to someone who is knocking on your door."
"Fine." Empress rolled her eyes. "What are you doing here by the way?"
"I'm about to ask perhaps it is possible if we go together at the bookstore, and yet, you were arguing with me so I don't feel like asking you now because I can actually go all by myself." She gave Empress a look that would make her regret everything she did.
Empress was silent for a moment, thingking what to reply after that. Fortunately for Cypress, Empress made her regretting as what she wanted. Empress pressed her lips together. "No, I want to go with you." She simply said as if Cypress already forgave her. Cypress laughed silently. "What?"
"Nothing, I got ya, Em. Go get your butt out of your bed and wear something Erudite-ness because we're going to heaven." She left Empress laughing.
Once they were ready, they left the house and went directly to the bookstore near their place, Fairleigh's Bookstore. The bookstore was twenty houses away from theirs so they walk instead. For some reasons why Cypress asked Empress to go with her was that, to look and buy for a book that would captivate Empress's heart to write, also to see if she would like the idea for second time being a writer.
They reached the bookstore for almost ten minutes. The Bookstore, somehow, looked old because of its dusty ceilings and shelves, caused of its dimmed lights. Though the books were not old, in fact, some books that were newly published were dropped on the Fairleigh's Bookstore first before the others.
