We arrived back home and Megan was waiting on the front porch. She was sad and glum, staring at the floor, tears spilling from her eyes. Fern and I immediately tensed. We'd never seen Megan cry, so we knew it was about Josh. She looked up and I saw her mascara and eye-liner had run down her cheeks and her eyes were red and puffy. She ran over to us and captured us in a hug. We tensed even more, because Megan never just gave out free hugs.

"Josh is dead," she whispered into both of our ears.

"I-I-I" Fern chocked.

"We know," I said, "Josh was in the enemy gang, he shot Anna-"

"He shot Anna?" Megan questioned.

"Yeah, anyway, and I went to go kill him," I carried on, while Megan nodded, "but when I was just about to, Fern showed up, gun in hand, pointing it straight at Josh. So, Fern killed him." Megan turned to Fern and I noticed a slight shade of anger on her face for a second before she tried to smile. She failed.

"At least you killed some-one," Megan smiled, laughing half-heartedly. Fern ran into the house. "Where's Skye?" Megan added.

"Last I heard she was in the hospital with Anna, now come on, I'll get you a cup of coffee," I said.

When we were in there, I gave Megan some tissues and let her use my mascara and eye-liner while I made her a strong coffee. When she came back down, she downed the coffee and asked me if she could stay the night. I gave an affirmative answer and then she went upstairs to get changed. I hadn't realized how late it actually was.  I went up after her and when I came down, Fern asked me the same question. I nodded and she went up to get changed. When they both came down, (as Megan had to wipe ALL of her make-up off) we snuggled up and watched 'My Sisters Keeper'.

"Hey Heather, guess what?" Megan asked

"What?"

"Shay Bounce and Valarie McLowe got together."

"No way!" I grinned, sitting up. Shay had loved Valarie forever, even when I was with him. Shay was a good guy and Valarie deserved him. She'd been nothing but good in her life, even when all those men let her down.

After the film, Megan and Fern left (Megan's mum called her, telling her to come back, so Fern left too). I sighed, alone again. I hadn't spoken to Joe in a while, and I still had his phone. So, since I couldn't text him or anything, I went to the park and hoped for the best. When I got there, I saw the unthinkable. Joe with another girl. They were walking with an ice cream in one hand, each other's hand in the other. I slipped behind the treeline. Alone in the darkness, I watched them, laughing together, loving each other. I grabbed his phone from my pocket and walked to his car, staying unseen. I unlocked the car (after all, I was a gang leader, I needed to know how to unlock cars) and placed his phone on the dash board. I grabbed it again and wrote a note on his screen.

Sorry I took your phone, and I wish we could go back, but you've replaced me.

I went back to watch them, just as they kissed. Her ice cream fell out of her hand and onto the floor, but he looked uncomfortable. He opened his eyes and released her. He walked away as she ran to catch up with him. I began to follow them, staying in the treeline, alone in the darkness. She looked around, and I saw her brown hair and brown eyes, looking worried.

"We're not alone," she whispered, her voice scared, but hard. He sighed.

"I'm never alone." He said, "after all, I am a gang leader."

"I know that, but I can feel their eyes on me, it's unnerving."

"It would be," he said and then he stopped and turned to her, "listen, you're great, honestly, but... I miss her..."

"I know. I knew as soon as you mentioned her name. The way you said it, it showed me that you still loved her, and you missed her. Don't worry, I understand." She said. He nodded and took her hand.

"Thank you," he said, and then he kissed her on the cheek. He let go of her hands and ran to his car. I followed, silent, like a black cat. He entered his car and saw his phone. He immediately stopped and picked it up. He read the note and slammed his head against the steering wheel. He began to type something and I grabbed me phone, putting it on silent so he wouldn't notice me. My phone began to ring silently but I ignored it. I crept up to his boot and climbed in, but he didn't notice. He rang me again, but I ignored it. The car began moving and I didn't notice as my head hit the boot's door. We pulled up to a house, and I had a quick peek. It must have been his house, because it wasn't mine.

After he went in, I clambered out, locking the boot. I went around the back of the house and climbed up to what seemed to be his window. I watched as he came in and threw his phone at the wall. It shattered into little pieces. The window was open a little bit, so I heard his screams.

"Why? Why her?" He screamed, "she's the enemy! Yet I love her, more than the whole world. No! I hate her. I hate her, I hate her, I hate her! She's playing with me! I can't get another girlfriend because of her! And we haven't even broke up! Not properly anyway! Ahhh!" I watched as his face grew red. I sat on the window ledge waiting for him to look at me. He didn't. He knealt by his smashed phone and sighed. He didn't cry, Joe never cried. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and texted him.

If you hate me so much, why'd we even start going out? I love you, a lot. But, it's obvious that you want to break up so you CAN get a new girlfriend. I guess it's over then.

I got home after leaving straight after the text was sent. I turned my phone off and lay on my bed, tired. I got up again and changed into my pyjama's. I looked at the clock and gasped. It was three in the morning! I connected my phone charger and went to get a drink of water before I settled down to sleep. It was seconds before I was snoring away.
