Carlisle slowly woke up, jumping at first upon realizing how close she was to Michael Myers. As the events of last night replayed in her mind, she relaxed and slowly pulled away. Looking up, her mahogany brown eyes met his chocolate ones and Carlisle sent him a friendly smile, though she knew he didn't really care whether she was polite or not. His eerie stare made things a little awkward.

"Thank you." She spoke calmly. Michael pulled his arms back to his sides and gracefully got out of the bed without ending up in any awkward positions. Spinning on his heel, he exited the room and slammed the door to scare Carlisle. It always amused him when she jumped out of fear. If Michael crept out of the shadows in her room more often, her jumping would grow much more frequent.

Carlisle didn't even bother wondering where he was, it wasn't worth it. The young woman decided to take a nap instead. Shifting to a laying position, she turned towards the wall and drifted off into a light sleep. It wasn't long before her peaceful slumber was interrupted by the feeling of something poking her back. At first she tried to ignore it, but when she heard a frustrated huff, she turned around and sat up only to see Michael holding out a pizza box.

It didn't take the woman long to devour the entire pizza, and Michael was watching from the foot of the bed, interested in the hungry creature. But then, he noticed something....Carlisle's shirt was crinkled and lifted up towards the back from tossing and turning in her sleep. Focusing in on the visible skin, he was met by the sight of severe scarring. It appeared to be from broken glass and knife slashing. Michael reached forward very slowly and began to trace the scars, making Carlisle jump. With an mischievous glint in his eye, Michael lifted his hand to her rib cage.

Before either of them knew it, Michael was holding Carlisle down with her wrists pinned over her head, and was tickling her mercilessly. This went on for thirty minutes before Carlisle was literally begging for him to stop with tears in her eyes. He crawled back to the foot of the bed, and Carlisle stayed in place trying to catch her breath. When she did, Carlisle sat up and fixed her clothes and hair so that they laid down nicely. Fixing her attention on Michael, she let her smile fall and asked:

"You saw them, didn't you..." Michael cocked his head slowly.

"The scars?" At this, the killer nodded, hoping he could get enough information to find and kill whoever it was that had damaged his property. This was his prey, his captive, no one else's.

"Well... When I was a kid, my Dad died during war. My Mom started to drink and... a-and alcohol...." She had to stop as tears formed in her eyes and sobs strained her throat, but Carlisle was determined to continue. This had to be said.

"A-alcohol makes pe-people do bad t-things." Carlisle held her tear-stained face in her hands and chocked back sobs. Michael understood what she meant rather quickly and grew angry. He felt an odd sort of protectiveness over Carlisle. But for now, Michael did the only thing he could think to do. Michael scooted closer to her and began to stroke her hair softly. She leaned into him so that her face was buried into the crook of his neck.

The young woman's ragged breaths seemed to shake the ground with their intensity. After awhile Carlisle began to drift off, so Michael carefully picked her and laid her back down on the bed, pulling the old and new blankets over her pale body. He crawled into bed beside her and she opened her eyes to stare into his own for a moment before closing them along with the distance between them.

'Why can't I just kill her? Why can't I just sacrifice her?  Why haven't I?" Michael thought as he continued to stoke Carlisle's hair with a racing heart. He wasn't used to holding or being held by anyone. Michael thought he'd cut off any sort of humanity that was left in him.... but now he wasn't so sure. Michael didn't understand what was wrong with him at the moment.

"Michael?" Carlisle asked, pulling back just enough so he could see her face.He looked down at her and cocked his head to side.

"Thank you." She said, smiling warmly. He pulled her back against his chest in an attempt to get Carlisle to sleep. This technique worked much to Michael's liking, as she fell asleep almost instantly. He stared down at the creature clinging on to him.

Maybe Michael could grow to like her....
